Love the way he played last night. Very active on both ends and moves real well for a guy his size. When he plays that way, it makes Doorson and Johnson play better as well, IMO. feel much better about the big man positions next year but would like another big recruit this year. BTW, I think I saw Douc out of uniform, possible red shirt this year?

Douc allegedly has back issues
---
I would have no problem with him red shirting at this point, as long as he is content to do so, and not considering transferring

we have enough big men to play the post without him, and if he continues to practice hard, next year he might give us valuable minutes.

Duke is a lost cause. What youre seeing is a player getting processed before your eyes if you cant recognize what that looks like, now you know.

I was taking the posters word here that there was some sort of injury involved.

as a fan, it is not so easy to tell when a player is being "processed".... early on, I did not think much of Shak Carters game, and bringing him on did not seem such a great thing.....
I would have thought his stay here might have been in jeopardy

Duke was a 4 star recruit who has not shown much..... the fact that he is in his second year supports your suggestion, however..... we shall see

I always say this. Tell me the last off-season we didnt have anyone transfer. I honestly cant remember. We have a kid or two transfer Every. Single. Year. The most obvious one right now is duke

You don’t know that he’s being processed. Last year when Myles Johnson sat out, many (including myself) assumed that he couldn’t play. Douc is not a total stiff...he can still be developed. I’d be happy if he gets a medical redshirt this year, because he can help this team even if it is in a limited way. If he’s not happy and wants bigger minutes, then of course it is option to go to a low major and play big minutes.

Stop acting like he’s Souf Mensah.

Last time (I think) was after the 2001-02 season.

Based on playing time and situation (still has 2+ years of eligibility left and hasn't already transferred once), Duke seems the highest likelihood... but until we actually get commits from some other bigs, he also has to be thinking he'll be seeing playing time next year in the post.

Great post giving a player the credit he deserves. Nice job matching up with Carter and Doorson going against Wesson and other big.

Carter gives this team a VERY valuable asset moving forward. The ability to draw fouls on opposing players, and work an INSIDE OUT game which could be huge for this offense, and result in a couple more wins.

Great job from the kid from FORT LAUDERDALE.

No one knows anything...he was a 2018 recruit that was part of the Mathis, Harper, Carter class who had the ability to reclassify up last year, started some games etc.

Back issues or not, a redshirt by any means buys a year back that he came in a year early for. He absorbs Shaq Doorson minutes next year as a sophomore eligibility wise.

If by chance he did depart. RU is now down to 1 big man on paper after the 2019-20 season, which makes no sense for anyone to say someone is being phased out. Carter and Eugene graduate in 2019-20 & we'd only have Myles Johnson left.

Obviously you can find another player in HS or JUCO but with 4 bigs, it makes no sense to waste a season this year if his back isn't going to be 100%.

If we have jumped the gun on Eugene Mathis Harper and Carter and McConnell at times in the last year or two....or last months or so, eventually guessing a transfer happens is inevitable....but if Myles was willing to redshirt then Doucoure can as well.

I should add Jack Nathan as available bigs, who on paper is not on ship but has 3 full seasons left after the season to compete.

What exactly does "processed" mean?
Kyk thinks that pikiell is actively shunning doucore and not giving him the time of day vs trying to bring him along slowly as best he can. Because that makes sense for some reason.

I doubt pikiell has given up on any player before midseason on his team. Really doesn't seem like the type.

I don't think Pikiell has given up on him but the fact that he was competing against Luke Nathan in the 1-on-1s in the preseason was telling. Combine that with the little bit we've seen on-court and I have to agree with kyk. He's strong but not long or explosive and doesn't bang inside the way you'd expect, instead settling for jumpers.

His minutes got cut as last year went on and were practically non-existent this year. It doesn't seem like he's developed much. If the version of Doucoure we've seen in the second half of last year and the bit we've seen this year is getting minutes next season then I think that's an issue.
