How could a coach test positive and not everyone else involved with the team not be in quarantine?
Let's leave the name slinging out of this, but politics has made a mess of already a bad thing in Covid.
So much misinformation by both sides.
My daughter got the cootie bug; she works in health care. The health department here in Louisville told her husband, 21 year old daughter, they do not have to quarantine unless they become ill. Our governor tells a different story.
What a big damn mess.

Buddy we have no shot at the tournament.
I get that people want to have hope because that makes things more fun. It’s just not happening this season.
Ok JM, but I still want to watch the games. Maybe you do too, and just making a witty reply. But, I look forward to the games and enjoy watching them even if I get frustrated, act like a child, talk to the TV screen, and all the other stupid fan stuff I do. To me, it's better than not having games to watch.

I am like a crack addict. I will always watch. But my hope for anything special for the season is gone.

Told my son the same thing. His daycare had a kid that tested positive. Told us that my son would have to quarantine for two weeks but his sister was ok to go back to school and we would be fine as well. Makes zero sense.

I think the most ideal scenario would be if the game is played, but Shaka Smart is unable to coach. Might throw enough of a wrench into the game to give us a chance to win.
Or provide a "win one for the Gipper" type reaction that inspires the 'horns to new heights, if our season karma holds true

The misinformation came from Republicans, and still does. Democrats, from the beginning, gave out the best evidence-based information available.

The daycare my grandkids go to make both stay home even if one has a cold and the other doesn’t. Different rules for different daycares I guess.

What a big...mess.
I would also think the team would need to quarantine, especially in light of sharing the air for extended periods of time without being masked. But *IF* the team is strict enough in their protocols, they may be able to avoid it if they do not do things that technically qualify as a “close contact.” https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/quarantine.html
As far as your daughter’s family (prayers for her!), I have heard of exposed health care workers not quarantining unless symptomatic or testing positive, due to staff shortages, sadly. But the family of a positive would definitely need to (although guidance was updated for how many days in an effort to get more compliance). The person who told them not to seems to be confusing the 2 scenarios. https://www.wlky.com/article/confus...nes-louisville-doctor-breaks-it-down/34907347

If I was Cal, I wouldn’t play them unless absolutely assured no players were in close contact with Coach Smart. Even at that, to me, it’s a risk. Prayers for your daughter and family!

Wonder what the thots on here would be if the Cats were headed to Austin and Cal had to stay in Lexington? Not expecting it to be a monkey wrench I’m guessing.
