Shaheen Sound Check

Sha Sounds Off: Monmouth - A Daly Dose Of Hoops

Opening statement: “King does an unbelievable job getting his guys going. They’ve got a good team, man…like a really, really, really good team. I’m very impressed with their guard play, their guards — just driving the basketball — put a lot of pressure on us. We didn’t play well at all, I didn’t...

This is good read. I appreciate the candidness from Sha and from the way we played and the what he said, we’re a mess; throwing everything against the wall to see what sticks bc there’s no ball handler.

But look it’s an exhibition and the guys playing at different junctures likely won’t be next too.

“Trey has some work to do.”

Imagine being the one holdover (before the late addition of Fisher) and you still can’t act right. You had a year under your belt of knowing what Sha expects and you end up being the odd one out.

Is it that hard to do what you’re supposed to do for these “kids”?

Jason always does a great job.

Trey looked and sounded ok at beefsteak. Was this disciplinary?

Probably expected to be a starter and wasn’t given the chance.

Too early to say that IMO.

But if you don't "have a guy", you go by Committee and try to develop playmakers or run offense through different guys.

Howd that work out last year even with budd?

[shu67]

If we don't have a pg who is to blame?

You had a 1.5 level finisher

It's way too late to try to develop a point guard for this season.

We do have a really tall backup center tho. I like it

You can put guys in position to do the job, run the offense or play-make. Plenty of teams have done this in the past and plenty of coaches have figured it out. You can also develop guys in-season.
