It's excellent news that he's such a priority and knows that he is. Get him on board and start building relationships before the G League comes calling.
Relationships here are deep-Cal's been handling his recruitment personally but Antigua/Chin had been on him/offered him at Illinois as well. This is a recruitment UK has been way out in front of and believe Travis Graf has entered a FutureCast for UK with Sharpe too.

Sharpe also is friendly with TyTy Washington due to being in AZ (I'm assuming that's how they got to know each other).

I should have finished my thought better.

I meant relationships with other guys we're recruiting. Get one elite guy in here who is coming to campus and let him be the anchor that pulls the others our way instead of losing them to the G League.

I think he's a candidate for that because of what you said about his ties to the staff.

Video looks good BUT we all know how those video's are. If he is as good as some of you say i hope we get him.
Unlike many who seem to have PR firms working on their behalf with the edited clips of a spring that has been less then stellar-this guy has balled out. Last weekend he had 47 pts in a comeback win. UPlay Canada isn't one of the top teams on Circuit either. He's been going against elite competition and standing out. In the deep class of '22, this guy has top 5 talent.

How is this guy not a 5 star?
He will be. With people who are friends of program out watching events the past Month, the list of names they've all seen/watched in '22 that have lived up to the hype to this point or gotten on the list:

Jalen Duren
Shaedon Sharpe
Dereck Lively
Kel'el Ware
Jazian Gortman
Kyle Flipowski
Cason Wallace
Chris Livingston
Keyonte George
Yohan Traore
Anthony Black
Nick Smith Jr
Jalen Washington
Ausar Thompson
Amen Thompson
Vincent Iwuchukwu
Tre Holloman
Dillon Mitchell
Bryce Griggs
Dariq Whitehead
Rodney Rice
Dior Johnson (but a lot of baggage)
Jordan Walsh
Emanuel Sharp (committed to Houston)

They all LOVE: Sharpe, Thompson Twins (Ausar is having a huge Spring) Duren, Ware, Whitehead, Smith, George, Flipowski, and Gortman.

Here's a clip of Ausar Thompson against Skyy Clark and MoKan from last weekend that sums up what the Twins are about--they get after you all game and are tough competitors who embrace competition.

Hope KY can reel in Livingston as well. As soon as I seen Dior Johnson’s name on there I said to myself “nope, can’t go there.”

Yep--just about guys who have played well to this point and stood out/backed up or in many cases exceeded the hype. Gortman is having a huge Spring. He's been very impressive and faced big names. Thompson Twins are not on a Shoe affiliated Circuit team and haven't lost a game to this point. Flipowski's performance against Team Final which many people who follow UK can attest is a talented team--specifically their frontcourt--was big time. He put on a show of skill that put Duren/Lively in a blender away from basket. Ware from Arkansas is having a monster Spring--very skilled. No word on whether UK will recruit Mady Traore from MD who Illinois was in heavy pursuit of--he's a 6'11 skilled PF as well. But Yohan Traore who plays with Keyonte George has been also tearing it up and gaining offers so far.

Sharpe has been killing everyone he faced. The other thing I should mention is that 47 pt game on the tremendous shooting came against E1T1 and that's the team with Dillon Mitchell who is touted as one of the best defensive players in the class--the guy who got a lot of attention for how he defended Emoni Bates at the Midwest Mania event. Sharpe going 47 on the high percentage he did and getting a W is not like it came against some bums.

Some bigs they've not seen yet are Adem Bona (his film is impressive but nobody's seen him this Spring yet), Mark Mitchell Jr--been out injured, Sada Nganga who had a big HS season in '19 and then was on same team as TyTy Washington at AZ Compass but sat out due to.....well I don't know--I'd guess he was injured??

The best part is that so many of these guys have relationships with Antigua and Coleman already and they were already offered by Illinois. So it shouldn't take much to get involved with many of the unfamiliar names.

Bryce Griggs is a bucket, will be a 15+ scorer wherever he goes. Likely going to be bought by a mid-tier SEC team though or stay in Texas.

He was interviewed over the weekend and mentioned he's taking an unofficial to Lexington soon. However....to add to your point he does play for JL3 on AAU circuit and that's John Lucas AAU program so not sure how serious it is or if it's courtesy due to the ties with Jai. He plays with Vincent Iwuchukwu the 7'0 from LaLamuiere via TX as well.

Cason Wallace of Pro Skills hearing a lot from Jai Lucas and should've added to him to list of names the guys I know out watching have been impressed with.

TX is STACKED with talent this year. It's insane how many good players that state has. The backcourt of Arterio Morris and Keyonte George will be must watch this HS season.

A Griggs/Wallace backcourt would be a great backcourt for Cal. You have the scorer in Griggs and then the "dog" in Wallace who is a force on the defensive end. Just so many combinations you can go with at the guard spot.

Throw in Sharpe as the "wing" and it's scary. But Nick Smith Jr is in discussion with the HS season he's coming off and AAU start he's had with Bradley Beal Elite. The depth of talent in '22 class is going to be a boost for CBB because you'll have plenty of talented guys who will be in college and can really play. Contrast with '19 class which was putrid for instance--some of the guys who made McDonald's AA/Jordan Brand games wouldn't sniff top 40/50 in this class.

Have you seen Jazian Gortman play? Everyone is raving about him.

I heard that he was opening eyes the past few weeks but that really started to pick up after his game yesterday against Lebron’s AAU team. He also looked really good against Skyy Clark and the WWTS event last weekend. He looks to be an elite defender and passer, if he can keep working on his shot, he is going to be a monster.
