Had a great time at MSG when we played the opener under bg - we lost. Zags lost to Duke in the headliner. My son and I sat by a bunch of zags fans, great guys. Were west coasters making it a Christmas week in nyc. My son had to get some stuff from his dorm at nyu, so we went down there and as we walked to his dorm, we ran into the zaga guys out for a night in the Village. I remember most of that night clearly, but have no clue who beat us lol. (not a complaint)

I’ve been to the Spokane campus many years ago. About 25, more or less. Cozy arena.

My West Coast cousins are Zags grads and they used to follow them around the country during the tourney.

Would be fun to get a home and home with them.

I don’t know the specifics of MSG but my guess is that is hard to schedule. Obviously they have a partnership with SJU that has become a lucrative one the last few years to the point where SJU is now trying to get MSG involved in all facts of the basketball program. Other power 5 teams like UConn, Duke, etc have long standing relationships and are able to get access for a game or two. Not sure where we would be in any pecking order but it’s probably an uphill climb even with a good partner to make the pitch.

I had a distributor in Spokane years ago. His wife worked in the Zags athletic department. Just the nicest people and loved to talk hoops.

I was at that game too. I believe it was Virginia Tech we lost to in the opener.

Sounds great but What’s the pitch to Few? How do we make their schedule better. Few looks for big time programs Michigan, Duke, Oregon, Kentucky, UCLA. We better have a good sales pitch as to why we belong on their OOC schedule. Hey we see you and Kentucky aren’t playing can we have next isn’t going to get it done.

Virginia Tech, and I recall it being kind of an ugly game

Personally, I don't think they would agree to an even split. They can do better than lock in a deal with us and would probably want an extra home game.

Wait a minute you are telling me a member of a reformed pac 12 is dictating to a legacy big east program...isnt the big east a power league in hoops?

Maybe instead of the Zags another school that might be more interesting for us to schedule, willing to schedule us and a school that is very competitive is St Marys. They seem to compete very well against the Zags and make the big dance quite often.
