in terms of style only, I think SGA’s game resembles that of Livingston. I apologize if this has already been discussed. Tall and lanky guards that shoot over top of defenders and mastered the mid range game. Also both are above average passers, rebounders, defenders, and above average athleticism. Seem to both be smart players as well.

Obviously no 2 players are identical, just thought SGA’s game resembles Livingston.

Shaun Livingston has 0 jump shot. SGA is at the very least respectable. Career 3 pt shooting 19% ouch. Livingston is an outstanding ball handler though. SGA could improve on that.

Alexander is a better shooter than Livingston. Livingston can’t hit crap in 2K

I think people forget just how good Shaun Livingston was before that brutal leg injury. He was explosive and I mean extremely explosive. And while he cannot shoot 3s his midrange game is top notch. Livingston was in line to be the next Penny Hardaway w/o a 3 point shot. But that really wouldn't have mattered because he got to the rim at will.

Livingston is a VERY good shooter. He just doesn’t take many threes because he understands that he can get that 10-15 ft jumper at any time and it’s more efficient than a 3 for him. Don’t mistake good shot selection for being a bad shooter

Terrible take. Livingston is a VERY good shooter. 3s are not the only jump shot

Look, Alexander has had some great games. Most notably the two against Vandy.

Let’s wait to anoint him the second coming until he’s consistently getting this team to play at a high level for 40 minutes.

0 jump shot? Livingston has mastered the 10-12 foot jump shot and the ability to shoot over defenders. Having a jump shot is about more than just 3 PT shooting.

Can't wait till Sexton comes to town. Probably be a few scouts in the seats that day.

SGA's long arms, lanky build and defensive pressure harken back to Rajon Rondo for me. SGA is a much better shooter but he certainly has quite a few elements of Rondo's game.

SDots jumper is the most signature part of his game, specifically the 18-20 footer. He doesn’t take many threes, he doesn’t really have to given his teammates abilities and his own skill set, but he makes a living spewsdjng defense with his accuracy from outside the paint. He doesn’t usually drive to the basket either, total midrange guy, which is also why a disagree with the OPs comparison. SGAs ability to get to the basket, even when the entire defense knows he’s going to try it, is ridiculous.

He was never going to be Penny Hardaway. Come on.
