Every one of those programs has tried very hard to hire the right coach. It’s not that easy
You're correct, it's not. Which is why you keep a good coach if you have one. It's the exact reason I had always thought you give Cal at least this season before you move on. It didn't work out, it's time for someone new, but getting rid of a coach at a blueblood who has had success is always a huge gamble.

I’d like Shaka Smart to be honest
No. Ask the people from Texas why he left there. He is another leftist who pushes his political agenda ahead of the program. You cannot mix politics and coaching especially in a red state. Just coach and don’t march and take knees

Make Calipari something like super superior special coach liaison or something stupid that massages his ego but he has no real power and let an assistant coach the team. They couldn't do any worse.

Hurley, drew (because everyone says Mitch loves him), Oates (just signed a big contract so can’t see this), Golden……just names I’ve seen then controversial ones I think are Pearl & Beard. Idk but I just can’t see him coming back next year cause the relationship with everyone else in the program is tarnished.

When Hurley was hired the were indeed irrelevant. They were coming off a 16-17 season in a nothing conference and were on probation. The last four seasons of the Ollie era they missed the tournament twice and never made it past the second round.
They have been relevent for the last 20 years.
