Great news...I would trade a January loss or two for him back at 100% come Feb and March even though I think we come out Saturday with a chip on our shoulder and I'm sure the guys want to win this big match up for tre...if he somehow plays or not

You didn’t hear? This is the best chance since 1995 we have to get DESTROYED at home.

But seriously, this is incredible news. And to be honest, I’m actually stunned that K was talking about it. I thought we were in for another Kyrie or Amile situation. If I recall, didn’t Kyrie’s toe have its own Twitter account in 2011?

I have a subscription on theathletic.com and Coach K mentioned that Tre wanted to play Saturday but K said they are going to play it safe.

Is The Athletic not the greatest media platform out right now? I got it as a Christmas gift last month and I can’t stop reading. The writing is spectacular, and I love the long-form.

I am too! I just told a few guys yesterday (including my UPS delivery man) that we wouldn't know anything practically up to the day he returned. Hey, I guess they'll think I don't Jack about Duke basketball, but hey, I don't mind a bit to be wrong about this!

I know looks like he will playing maybe in a week. But how long does a Grade 1 take to compelely heal I want him 100 percent. When he comes back can we expect a 100 percent Tre or would they be another 2 weeks or so after returning?

At this point, I feel like I'm basically Dr. Andrews just based on all the AC joint research I've done. A grade 1 usually begins feeling better within days and takes around 2 weeks to fully heal.

Also the way our schedule plays out after Saturday we shouldn't lose any and they would be another 2-3 weeks before we technically need him I would hope but can never tell in ACC. I can see coach k rested him another 1-2 weeks after he has been cleared to play. Also I heard on the radio can anyone confirm this but Tre has said he wants to play Saturday and has been in coaches ear about playing. Imagine the crazies Saturday tre bouncing on the bench they are going be happy

I had a grade 2 in college. It was brutal - basically every time you reaggregate it, the clock restarts on recovery. Throwing a ball was enough to reaggrevate it (and it hurt like hell). Doctor said about 6 weeks off of it, and this was pretty close to what it took. If it's indeed a grade 1, I'd personally like to see him sit until St. Johns. It'd be a full 2 weeks and he should be 100% good to go with no lingering issues. It'd be a tough 2 weeks (we have 4 games), but we need him at 100% come March.

They said slight worse than grade 1. So 2-3 weeks he should be 100 percent. And he has rested would be a week almost come Saturday. I would like to sit another 2 weeks as well and if he does come back as long as he don't reimjury it then it will still heal up in that time

I was so hesitant at first because of the price point, but now its far and away my go to site for all sports news.

Prob not even grade 1 if it’s not as bad as originally thought. Does Vegas expect him to play?

I know I know I’m way ahead of myself... but has he officially been ruled out for Saturday? I know K wants to take his time with him and I get the length of rest he needs.. but being monitored 24/7 by the training staff and medical team.. im envisioning a Ryan Kelly type scenario when he came back for that home game vs Miami.. it was all quiet until tip-off... Cameron would go nuts!!!

Now I know I just went 0-100 but hey it could happen

yeah. i just got off the phone with iron duke connection and the word was Tre was "doing great and way ahead of schedule". the medical guys were pretty tight lipped - but the rumor was a grade 1 injury -

again - everything depends on Tre and the amount of pain and discomfort he has - and that can be a day to day thing.

Awesome news! He was probably on course for his all-around best performance as a Blue Devil Monday nite. Perhaps a silver lining to all this, w/Cam already out and then losing Jones was the solid outing from AOC! He needed that boost!

This information should of been held under wraps. Let Tre walk out with the sling on his arm, dressed in his sweats and as they start announcing the starting lineup, PA announcer says "Hold on, we have a change in the lineup" and show Tre ripping off his sling and warm ups. Talking about mind fu**ed lol.
