When the same thing happens every single year and you expect it not to happen, does that mean KU fans are insane not to think Self is a known tourney choker? Just wondering out loud here. The funny thing is, Knee, the KU fan, just told us all yesterday that wouldn't happen with this current KU roster. Oops! Talent doesn't seem to be a factor while considering KU's odds of choking. Jackson, Wiggins, LeBron, it doesn't matter. Self will and can find a way. It's actually impressive, really.

self has been at ku for what 14 seasons, been to just 2 final fours and has been a 1 or 2 seed most of the time. that doesnt work for most blue bloods. why do you think self does everything he can to win conference titles, if he won just have of them....is he really coaching there?

Home game with the refs in his back pocket with the best backcourt ever & the best freshman, against a team without their 2nd best player.......Self's criminals get cornholed. Priceless.

Sensible Kansas fan? That's an oxymoron if I've ever heard one.

I actually think KU has the second best fanbase in college basketball. Very knowledgeable and passionate. Provide amazing support at home and travel better than any fanbase outside of UK.

All that being said, they simply lose their minds when it comes to UK and Cal. They are so emotional/jealous when it comes to Cal that they just make fools of themselves. Otherwise smart fans turn into bumbling fools.

Bill Self is dangerously close to Tubby territory.

Pretty amazing really. 14 seasons, never seeded lower than 4. 11 times seeded 1 or 2 (7 times a 1 seed). Despite that, they've only made 2 Final Fours, and were knocked out in the first or second round 5 times. They've lost to a 14 seed, a 13 seed, an 11 seed, a 10 seed, a 9 seed, and a 7 seed.

Everyone wants to talk about their conference streak, but what's truly historic is their futility in the tournament. There can't be another team in history who has so consistently underperformed their seeding for such an extended period of time.

I'm with crossword on this. I would expect a similar response from one of our fans if someone made as stupid of a statement as that.

Take into account the historical lineage of the game, all time wins, all time win percentage, total tourney wins, tourney win percentage, trips to the final four, title game appearances, weeks ranked in the AP polls, consecutive tourney streaks, conference titles both regular season and tourney and countless other statistical measures and you have a true blueblood.

Self is a dirty POS. Should have been the 11th loss for this over-rated bunch of scumbags, but the Big12 refs won them another B12 title. Half this team should be in the state penitentiary. I think Self us the most over-rated in the history of sports. Handed high seeds due to the corrupt big12 coupled with an epic meltdown by Memphis in 2008 are the only reason the idiot media perceives this clown as a great coach.

Was thinking this same thing.. Kansas is one more flameout away from Tier2..

They need to make up serious tournament ground.

Maybe don't recruit scumbag players that kick women in the face..

Has Kansas underachieved or have they been over ranked and over seeded?
I think they've underachieved, or as we like to say on here, they have CHOKED many, many times. At some point you have to look at the coaching. Self always has a very talented team, yet can't find a way to take them to the top of the mountain.

Kansas got bailed out all year.. that's the problem.. this was a #2 or a #3 seed in actuality, and I've said as much since January.

Losing in the Elite 8 was the ceiling for this penitentiary team.. it just looks worse with a #1 by their name.

Oh well.. Sloppy Joe's and creamed corn is down in the cafeteria tomorrow. Hopefully they've been on their best behavior..

Not Cal, UK.

They think we stole their legacy when Rupp came here. Then we owned them for the next 60 years and made it worse. As I said in the other thread, they started making conspiracies that Rupp stole his revolutionary style from a kansas assistant. They've got a whole theory they've worked on since the 60's.

As for the BB talk, Kansas is a BORDERLINE blue blood. It is not set in stone like many believe. They've got the second best fan base in college basketball, and 2nd all time wins, but I think at this point people have to start considering that there are only 4 true blue bloods RIGHT NOW.

UK
UCLA - titles matter when you're first
UNC
Duke

-----borderline-----
Kansas - Uconn (won't happen now because of conference shifts. they'll fall)

------second tier------

Michigan State
Louisville
etc.

I think Uconn falls because Ollie blows.. If they had a decent coach, they would absolutely take Kansas' lunch and come join us at the big boy table.

Uconn is within 5 hours from the following: Boston, New York City, Washington DC.. They have the pipeline, and they have the titles. THB, surprised they haven't gotten their coach.

I think this could be Ollie's last year, if they don't succeed. That's a great job opportunity..
