Blades with a fall for bronze!
Blades trailed Mongolia (2023 World silver) 2-0 at the break, but finally got her offense going - rattling off eight straight points, then countering a desperate throw attempt for the fall.

With the win, Blades has now earned back-to-back World bronze to go with her Olympic silver in 2024.

Bassett is on 🔥 onto the finals
Ok, but has anybody told you that Bo Bassett is 20 years old? He's so old!

In the same way that Mesenbrink and Nolf win with "Iowa style"?
I know what you're doing here, but to pretend your coming in good faith, I don't think Nolf would qualify under what most people would call the traditional "Iowa style", but Mesenbrink would.

Nolf only lost three matches and had a bonus rate of 86.6% from a quick Google search. The only person ahead of him was David Taylor, and Nolf is actually ahead of Mitchell Mesenbrink as of right now so that can obviously change.

Barr is actually out of Messenbrink as of right now.

It's not a comment on level of dominance, just style. I loved watching Nolf wrestle. However, when people say "Iowa style" I think they're talking more about Mesenbrink's "beat'em up, take'em down, let'em up, rinse and repeat" than Nolf's kind of "all angles onslaught".

Gotcha, I was thinking match dominance and points. I see what you mean.

Hopefully all the extra cardio that Gracie Figueroa has been forcing Lee to do every night pays off in an easier weight cut cuz last year UWW shared post weigh-in pictures and Lee had the dessicated paper thin skin look of an 80 year old on dialysis. Now I don't know if a rough weight cut was the cause of his poor performance last year but the picture was startling. Ive never seen anyone look like that

USA women are currently leading Japan 132-130 in the team race. We have two left tomorrow and Japan has one. We need to win at least one of our matches OR Japan loses theirs in order to clinch the team title
For context: Japan hasn’t lost the team title race since 2012 - and has won 28/35 since the inaugural event in 1987 (which was also the country’s lowest ever finish, 3rd).

Team USA’s only WFS team title came all the way back in 1999.

FYI: No late night/early morning (Hawkeye) action tomorrow.

Leydecker wrestles for gold in the medal round (8:00am CT start) along with three other Americans.

And here’s everyone who will be in action for Team USA:
