Should we win the first game we will not have a dominant home crowd for the second. Iowa St crowd will be amped.

Our bracket seems easier due to name recognition, but it’s actually really tough. It really doesn’t matter though. We aren’t going anywhere this year regardless. I’m predicting a loss in the first round.
I won't be surprised if it happens but on the plus side Pope won't get another year on his contract.

From Chat-GPT: A simple Monte-Carlo style simulation (100 games) assuming typical strengths for the 2025–2026 rosters: deeper talent and athleticism for Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball and strong offensive efficiency but less depth for Santa Clara Broncos men's basketball.
Assumptions used in the model:
  • Kentucky overall team rating advantage ≈ +9 points on a neutral court
  • Standard college basketball scoring variance ≈ ±11 points
  • Neutral floor for all simulated games

100-Game Simulation Results

TeamWinsLossesWin %
Kentucky742674%
Santa Clara267426%

Average Score Across Simulation
  • Kentucky: 79.8
  • Santa Clara: 71.4
Average margin: Kentucky +8.4

Game Distribution

Out of the 100 simulated games:
  • Kentucky wins by 10+ points: 41 games
  • Kentucky wins by 1–9 points: 33 games
  • Santa Clara wins by 1–9 points: 17 games
  • Santa Clara wins by 10+ points: 9 games

What time does UK play?
Won’t know till maybe late tonight, but I would expect a late game due to Kentucky and playing a west coast team. Best for their fans and also national attention to “see Kentucky lose to an underdog.”

Kentucky has 13 losses. I’m amazed how many people in this thread are easily penciling in wins over Santa Clara and top 10 Iowa State.
Would be a complete fluke for us to beat Iowa St. They’d have to have a really bad shooting day. I think Michigan and Iowa St cruise to elite 8.

Well I got all 68 teams right but it was the easier year ever to do it thanks to Miami OH losing and having a bid stolen

Pretty much all the people in bracket matrix got this right this year or most of them I assume

Santa Clara is no slouch. UK better bring their A game…
They really are a good team. We will have ro play well.
I could see us making it as far as the Elite 8. I could also see Santa Clara sending us home. Either would not surprise me at all.
At first glance gut feeling...we beat Santa Clara, lose to ISU
