There is controversy every year, but putting those 3 teams in shows how poor a job the committee did. OU is terrible, and Texas isn’t any better.

The committee did exactly what they said they’d do. They looked at the entire season. I don’t like it, but I’m not surprised.

We weren't even in the First Four Out.

I guess next year we need to schedule nothing but Top 50 teams in the nonconference. As long as we can beat a few of them, then it won't matter how many conference games we lose.

Our conference record sounds great, but the schedule sucked. We had to beat Osu, MSU, or Purdue on the road and got no home game with any of them. Of our 13 wins, we had 1 good one. 18 conference games in a conference with 14 teams is a recipe for disaster.

You guys act like it's a given that top teams want to schedule us. I don't know, do they? Honest question, because my guess is that it's not that easy for Nebraska to schedule traditionally good basketball programs. I mean, if they beat us who gives a ****, we suck. Lose to us and you're a laughing stock. There's zero upside to playing Nebraska.

We could certainly look to teams like Wichita State, nearby Big 12, Big East, MAC teams. Some of these teams are going to be in the same boat and need good teams on the schedule, especially if the Quads stay the criteria. We had far too many creampuffs.

There's a little bit of middle ground between scheduling "top teams" and larding up your schedule with dogcrap teams like Delaware State and Stetson.

It appears that the quadrant system can be manipulated much in the same way back and I think it was the mid 2000 when the Missouri Valley was able to get two and three at-large bids because they scheduled just tough enough so that the RPI and the strength of schedule in the non-conference look good but not great and yet those teams had a decent winning record. You took on the okay teams from the bigger conferences and that helps you have a little bit more of a midline so everybody looked average there for nobody look bad. That many teams out of the SEC I think that kind of proves the point.

Don't have to schedule the top teams. I'd look at how St. Bonaventure scheduled in the non-conference this year. They played in a crap conference and didn't play any top teams, yet ended up with a Top 25 RPI.

They did it by scheduling a few middle-of-the-pack P5 opponents (TCU, Syracuse, Maryland) and then a bunch of decent mid-majors (Buffalo, Niagara, Vermont). That's what we need to do next year.

Exactly. Play Northern Colorado and Drake instead of Stetson and Delaware State, and you've upgraded the schedule significantly.

Not really, and based on how they seeded teams they clearly did not. Of course the goal posts get moved every year by the committee to fit the narrative they desire.

Based on the criteria there were very few surprises on the field. I haven’t looked at the brackets close yet.

Anyone who wants to complain about Rasmussen, look at who Creighton will likely play in round 2, if they get by K State. Virginia. That is a terrible matchup for them, and I’m not talking about Virgina being a 1 seed. Schematicaly it’s a bad matchup.

There is so much wrong with this bracket and most of it has nothing to do with nebraska.

Btw, anyone who says adding more teams to the cfp will make it better is absolutely wrong.

I'm disappointed but Nebraska has to use this as motivation for next season and do like they said in "Remember The Titans", "Leave No Doubt"!

If only Marc Boehm had known the football team wouldn't be going in a bowl game, he wouldn't have scheduled such horrible opponents in late December. That's usually vacation time, man.
I don't think we have to worry about Boehm anymore. He's not in charge of the bball program anymore.

Maybe old news, but I just saw that NU is playing in the HOF Classic in Kansas City in November. NU, USC, Texas Tech, & Missouri State.

NU will probably end up playing Missouri State, given the luck and performance in these types of events.

That is what putting Okla in basically says. Reg season means nothing, conf record means nothing, how a team is playing end of the year means nothing. Only thing that matters is beating 2 or 3 top 25 teams. Horrible

The bio posted here says otherwise:
Athletic Administration

"His responsibilities also include the direct oversight, strategic planning, policy development, budget and personnel management of the men’s and women’s basketball programs;"
Moos has restructured the athletic department and moved some staff.

Boehm has been with Nebraska for 15 years and most recently oversaw all development areas. As Executive Associate Athletic Director, Boehm has oversight of all External Operations including development, ticketing, N Club, marketing, communications, creative and emerging media, HuskerVision, licensing and branding, spirit squads and community, government and charitable relations.

Yep.
By the logic of the committee, you can literally win 6 games, and only six games, and get in.

My opinion is that OU should have been left out. Mainly because they are obviously playing their worst b-ball of the year right now. With that said, they were 9-12 against tier 1/2 teams. We were 3-9.

Thanks, Kaz. Had not seen that. While everyone schedules some cupcake games, this gives me hope that maybe the Huskers will no longer be dense enough to have 300+ RPI teams on the schedule.
