I figured he visited or something but couldn’t find anything. He’s had a USC offer since May. Maybe it wasn’t commitable until recently?I was wondering the same, he hasn’t visited anywhere or anything like that in a while. It’s like the USC things just kind of popped up.
Just committed to USC. Bummer
We’ve been loading up well the DL, but he woulda been a great addition.
Theres no way to sugarcoat this.
Recruiting is not going well right now, we needed this and another before the dead period. He was heavy NU and should have been closed long ago. We need closers.
There is still time to rebound and end up with a good class, so don’t make this post more than it is. We aren't doomed but we need a turnaround.
This hurts and its not going well right now, if you don't see that your head might be in the sand.
6-7 hour drive to USC from his home. Stanford and Cal about an hour. Parents and other relatives will get to see a lot of games. Maybe Tony gets him to Cal if Tony was still there.Momma
Do you think that's what we have done the last two classes?NO worries we'll fill up with 5.5 5.6 projects.
Long way till signing day and a great season would do wonders. Especially if our DL is aggressive and has a player(s) that garner accolades. I wouldn't call this a bad class by any stretch. There is plenty of time and these early commitments mean nothing, and I believe they'll mean less and less as time goes by.
Truthfully, our defense became much better as the season went on. I believe it was part 1) learning the scheme 2) getting rid of bad apples
Attitude plays a HUGE role on defense. I hope to see some gains this year. I hope to see them get off to a better start.
If anything the opposite happened. Newell was rumored to be headed to the grad transfer market, yet stuck around and provided depth on the DL. Lamar was playing with his head up his hind end, got benched, but responded to the benching with improved play.Who were the bad apples on defense? I agree with learning the scheme, I just don’t remember any defensive players that were dragging the team down with their attitudes, and also left in the middle of the season.

Might have been an assumption on my part. I just know there were a bunch of departures with the coaching changes. I don't have any inside info. However, my beautiful wife got me tickets to Nebraska/Purdue, 50 yard line first row behind the bench in Riley's last year. And while that was a pretty cool last second win, there was a sideline full of dejected players and coaches.
Ok glad you got to go to the Purdue game.
What top 250's are we in on??? not very many left.Do you think that's what we have done the last two classes?
I love the drama queens… If not for posts like his, these threads would never make it past the first page. The drama queens actually do us a few favors from time to time…Do you think that's what we have done the last two classes?

It is almost impossible to pull Poly kids from USC. Hopefully Jahkeem Green shows up this week.
I think it was Nate Clouse that said he doubted Green heads to Lincoln if he qualifies...sounds like Lubbock
On a side note, Highland HC has coached (not sure in what capacity) at Texas Tech and KSU previously
I'm in the minority on this, but I always thought it would be more of a luxury to also get Sekona with Nash in the class already. I think we're fine with one NT in the class. I think Nash would always be better than Sekona for one. Secondly, I'm assuming we'll have Daniels & Green at NT next year with Nash playing four games minimum. And after next year, Nash will be ready to take over. As for depth, by then I think someone will emerge. Could be Mosai Newsom growing into a role playing inside or outside. I'm sure they will look into the juco market, grad transfers as well. But when we talk about depth, this is where the walk-on program is supposed to come into play as well.Well we will only have two NT...and that is counting the unsigned Hutmacher...after this year so, ya this was another big hit
Staff has now lost three players early that they REALLY wanted in XW, Reed and Sekona plus Ajou which wasn't as big of a surprise. Also, now trending downward on Chloe-Bryant and Morrison.
Not if Damion Daniels decides to do more cardio. And after next year, Nash will be ready to take over.
