Depends on overall record at that point vs. Other conferences. Burns can finsh 1 3a in smac at 9-1 but would not get 1 seed if a team ie. Pisgah is 10-0.
Only one winner in split conference,
In our conference 3A ,and 2A ,The top 3A and 2A teams will be seeded number one unless of a tie.I know last year we had a three way tie and flipped a coin.

3 years is a while???? We were in the playoffs 5 years in a row from 09 to 13 and 11 out of 12 years between 02 and 13. Yes we've missed the past 2 years but 11 out of 14 years going to the playoffs ain't too shabby.
I met your coach Greene at the state playoffs in Chapel Hill the year Burns beat us in Canton.A good coach and class act.
i was at the playoff game in canton with burns. they had a really fast tailback.cant remember his name tho. burns had a big lead at the half. then pisgah rode the leatherwood kid who was a beast and came back but still lost. it was a great game .
That tailback was Tony Scott who went on to NC State and then the New York Jets as a defensive back. I remember that game well. The Burns defense just couldnt seem to tackle that guy.
There were several other very good players on that '94 team. Scottie Montgomery, Kendrick Leslie and Derrick Chambers are a few that come to mind.
I think Coach Ron Greene was the first coach that Burns ever had that knew how to install a winning attitude regardless of the athletes he had to work with. There were some good teams during his coaching era. The stadium is named for him.

The Bears turned the ball over eight times in that game .More than all the total turnovers for the whole year.I believe we were behind 33-8 at half time lost 40-35.Both teams had beat Shelby that year so they were both pretty good.
