to the season ticket holder who keeps selling his tickets to the enemy, keep it up, sell your tickets to some Illinois fans

I now consider it a lucky charm to have the smug away fans near me, and watch them get crestfallen as we crush their hopes

Yes, you sold them to Purdue fans, Michigan state fans, then Ohio state fans....

keep up the good work

216 isnt as bad thats where I have season tickets and ive rarely see fans near me except for the Purdue game. Most people in 216 are similar faces.

You guys do realize that most tickets are sold by Stub Hub. Rutgers fans need to buy them before opposing fans do.
Or it could be a non Rutgers person who bought them specifically to sell them open market to opposing fans via the hub or the incoming school sports site?

That would certainly make me feel better if I was The Wheezer.

I am annoyed that someone who probably was a RU fan is selling the tickets at all...

That situation sucks. But again the open market is the open market anyone can buy them, they’re not targeted to opposing fans on StubHub, it’s silly to think otherwise. We have to get to the point that any Available seat is grabbed by Rutgers fans early.

The 4 seats next to me are owned by 2 Rutgers guys but they rarely come. They both told me they want to hold onto them so they can attend some games and to give them to family and friends but that’s not happening. One guy goes to Florida Jan-April so his 2 seats are for sale all other games. I asked if he was interested in selling me Jan-March and he said ā€œthey’re on StubHub.ā€ He wants his $. Fortunately it has been 70-30 Rutgers fans buying them.

I never said they were targetted to opposing fans on StubHub. I know how that works. I said via schools sites like our own ticket forum. Not that I think it's the most likely.

One other thought. Rutgers doesn't help with their StubHub agreement where our season ticket holders can so easily list from their accounts. I know we have been desperately needing to sell tickets and revenue but perhaps now is the time to walk away from this. No more fake sellouts by dumping to StubHub.
Both programs should be able to stand on their own coming out of covid and given the results.
Need an internal resale function.

Those seats were definitely sold as season tickets, otherwise we could have moved down.
Yes of course, they’re season tickets and when the owner doesn’t use them OUR OWN ticket APP lets those season ticket owners list their tickets for general sale.

Are they Close enough to ask? I've actually done that before in a nice ingusitive way.
The seats are close enough and I will ask next time if I feel like they are willing to discuss

There’s been a good contingent of opposing fans in the same seats in 213 as well. Luckily they haven’t had much to cheer about.

It's simple: loyal RU fans would NEVER sell their tix on Stubhub or anywhere else that could allow their seats to end up in enemy hands.

Oh boy, that may not end well :)
🤣

don't worry about it, I can be very non-confrontational
when I want to be....

I am curious if was a RU fan who gave up on the team, or someone non connected who became a season ticket holder just as a possible investment

this

many years ago there was a game I could not make....I just ate the tickets......the next game a RU fan near me asked, why did you sell your tickets to xxxx fans, they were rude and
obnoxious

I told him I did not, and sometimes people just see open seats and see if they can move down and stay there....which they did

I occasionally have an extra ticket for hoops and often have 1-2 extras for football. I either give them away to friends (an email list of about 75 friend who I know are at least casual RU fans) or eat them if nobody is interested - that's rare for hoops now that we're good and sell out most games, but it's common for football as the games still aren't anywhere near selling out.
