All offseason NU talked about starting fast and not repeating last year's slow start. Then they come out with this? Wow. What a flat first-half performance.

The big two is doing the job: Thorson is 13-17 for 115 yards and 1 TD on a beautiful ball. Jackson had 21 touches, and his 17 carries included maybe the best two-yard run I've seen. But the OL isn't getting a push against a six-man box and NU turned it over on both drives into Nevada's red zone, with Kuhbander's missed 21-yard chip shot and Skowronek's fumble at the 13.

And they've been sloppy: Dickerson had the PI, Godwin the late hit, three 30-plus yard plays by Nevada.

There's still a lot of time. OSU was trailing Indiana, and last night Wisconsin fell behind Utah State, and both won big. But Fitz better have a helluva halftime speech.

On the plus side, the ball has moved OK abut the missed FG and red zone fumble kept points off the board. Larkin has showed some juice. The lack of a pass rush is more concerning to me right now than anything else. Hank is going to have to dip into his bag of tricks earlier than he'd like.

Need to get some OL push when you're inside the 10 yard line. Have to score TDs in those situations.

How about a turnover!!!!!
McShepard seemed to grab the same arm/shoulder after a deep ball early in the game. Wonder if he is playing with an injury that almost kept him out entirely. That might explain what Lou heard.

Clayton is doing a much better job this year holding onto the ball longer on the option.

I saw that. Seemed like an elbow or forearm. He has been favoring it all game.

As noted on the other thread The technical difficulties with BTN TV here in Alaska just got resolved as the 2nd half began.

More importantly though it looks like the Wildcats resolved their technical difficulties as well with the score now tied.

That poor kid looked like he was in some serious pain. This game is so brutal sometimes.

We miss Walker's pursuit at the LB position. Don't seem to have any speed at LB anymore

Nothing like an early season sweat against a below average non-conf foe. Getting another beer now.
