Well, that was fun! It's running weather in Evanston and NU has cranked up the ground game. The Cats ran for 176 yards in the first half, including 136 from Justin Jackson, who needs just 20 more to become the second rusher in B1G history with four 1,000-yard seasons. The defense has two turnovers and three sacks. Life is good.

I think Ryan Field is going to be pretty empty for the second half. There's very little reason for fans to return. It's a "wintry mix" out there now, a rain/sleet/snow combo that's coming down sideways.

Important for Cats to retain intensity, especially in 3rd quarter. I assume that subs/seniors will get into the game in the 4th if Cats retain or expand lead. Too frequently, we let teams get back into games after we've extended a lead. Don't expect that here because of weather and because D is playing so aggressively. But, it would be a very good sign for our Bowl game prospects if the Cats can keep their foot on the accelerator.

The numbers are lopsided. Throw in the short field and a few big plays and you have a real trip to the shed.

Hopefully we keep running the ball like road graders and throw in a few big passes at opportune times. The D looks very much in control.

So if D keeps on playing lights out and we manage to score one more TD with a missed 2 point conversion, we get a 31-0.
Wouldnt that be glorious?

Impossible situation for Minny. Down 25. Young QB. Best receiver out. 5 more minutes with the wind. Terrible weather.

The GopherHole live game thread is absolutely brutal. Not a lot of Fleck fanbois today.

Amazing interception to keep the shutout intact as we head to the 4th.

That bounced ball interception was pure moose karma.

Is Paddy Fisher ok, or just resting to avoid injury? Gallagher recovered the fumble but it looks like most of the starters are in there.

Nice 24 yard TD run by the walkon Acker there! We’re rolling now, and hopefully we’ll jump a few spots in the rankings.
