Long term, this would have been and still is the better place to be. Recruiting rich and better cultural fit. Right coach could have NU doing alright there. Plus being the lone cold weather team would be a challenge for opposing teams.

We probably would get better talent, which would make us at least respectable. I think that's what he means.
Yes. We didn't gain anything but some money from the Big 10. Our recruiting footprint is now challenging (although adding USC and UCLA will help a little). I also think with the addition of OU and Texas and Missouri and A&M already in the SEC it is a historically relevant fit. People get so stuck on right now instead of down the road.

My eternal hatred for Penn State notwithstanding, they look pretty solid. Dominating the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball - what a concept.

Auburn also has serious ball security problems.

Picked to finish dead last in SEC west preseason.
That Auburn job will be open by midseason and that's one job NU will have to compete against. Colorado job should be open tomorrow. Nobody wants that job with that university administration being a woke nightmare.

Yes auburn is kind of like the NU of the SEC (plus some actual big wins) the last 10 years

rotating door at Coach and underwhelming qb play

this is a classic B1G meaningless win for the marks to hook onto going into bowl season a la a win in the round of 32

Like I said...whenever a Big Ten team beats an SEC team, you guys say it doesn't count.

Texas A&M was the 3rd-highest ranked SEC team...and they lost at home to Appalachian State.

The SEC going 3-7 (plus a forfeit) in the normal Bowls was no fluke. The Big Ten went 6-2.

Couldn’t agree with you more. Though I think the Big 12 and the SEC are a better cultural fit for NU (Nebraska just doesn’t fit in the B1G despite its midwestern roots) I’ve always found it strange that some fans like to dis the conference.

The same conference that has done nothing but wipe its *** with Nebraska the last 5-6 years. Really since NU joined the conference. They were brought in specifically to help the B1G’s image of being kind of soft and not competing for national championships. Husker fans used to make fun of the Big Ten.

Now that same conference makes fun of Nebraska if they think about them at all.

It would like if Lions fans were talking crap about the NFC North. A division they constantly can’t win and are usually dead last in.

At least be competitive before you talk ****. Don’t be one of the reasons your conference or division is so bad in the first place.

Folks on here trying to argue against the SECs greatness always look like complete buffoons. The height of idiocy.

pennst was favored today. expected to win. tip of the cap to them for taking care of business & not getting upset.

same, sadly, cannot be said for several B1G teams against missouri valley, sun belt, pac12 north and FCS opponents.

Didn't he just say Arkansas is good? They're losing at home in the 3rd quarter to something called Missouri State.

Florida, at home...clinging to a 3 point lead over South Florida. A minute left in the 3rd quarter.

You must not be aware of Missouri being in the SEC. Everyone knows how well that "warm weather" program is doing in the SEC EAST.
I was just going to ask how Missouri has been doing since they joined the SEC. Despite playing in Florida and Georgia, etc. Seems like the SEC would be happy to get rid of them.

was?

what happened? arkansas didn't pull a B1G and actually lose?
2 days ago you proclaimed that Arkansas is good. They needed a late 4th-quarter comeback to beat something called Missouri STATE. At Arkansas.

And you boasted about Florida being ranked. Now with 2 minutes left, SOUTH Florida is driving into Florida territory...down by 3. At Florida.

Arkansas was behind, at home, in the 4th quarter...to Missouri State.

South Florida just fumbled on the 2nd-to-last play of the game...recovered it but lost 14 yards...and missed the game-tying 49-yard FG. At Florida. (Reminds me of the awful putrid Florida/LSU game). So you can stay on your knees and puckered-up at Florida's backside.

The difference is...I'm not bent down smooching Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Rutgers, & Wisconsin's backsides. All winners today. Like you're smooching these unimpressive SEC teams.

Depends on what B1G division you're in. The West is a disaster - the rest of CF are laughing their tail ends off. The East - on the other hand - is now 19-1 after the MSU loss tonight

all of them

every single one is better

100% of P5 divisions (plus the big 12, which has no divisions) is better

please provide any and all proof that in 2022 this is false and we shouldn't trust what we've seen on the scoreboard thus far

you'd like for me to literally list all of the divisions

I am saying all of them. all.

acc coastal, acc atlantic, sec east, sec west, entire big 12, pac12 south, pac12 north

you will not find another division that boasts as many G5 + FCS losses as the B1G west in 2022
. they are all better & it is not even a discussion

The SEC has dominated college football for decades and you use Arkansas and Florida as random arguments against. Yet they would dominate much of the BIG. Nobody here loves that the SEC is so much better than every other league year in and year out. That said, most people are just not dumb enough to look at a red stop sign and call it green. But there are obvious exceptions….

to B1G fans, an SEC "ugly" win is the same as a B1G team getting beat by a G5 or FCS team at home

very pathetic
