I keep seeing brackets on the net that have the opening games starting at 11am nashville time. Do they really tip off that early??

Yes because you have a day session and a night session. 4 games total to be played.

Covid germs don't get up very early, trying to beat them to the punch.

Earlier start is due to the fact they are building in more time between afternoon and evening sessions for cleaning the arena.
