I'd prefer a run of Alabama, Texas A&M/Vanderbilt, and *(Title game is not included in the team's resume. Whoever they play and whatever the score will have no effect on anything). Kentucky is a solid 1 seed right now. Most everyone agrees that the ACC won't be getting 3 1 seeds. How about we get 3 easy-ish games to run through the tournament and get Travis back up to speed while building momentum in the process?
How could you be wanting another rematch with Tennessee at this point? A win against them doesn't help at all, but a loss to them will open up UK to being jumped over by other top teams that breeze through their tournaments.
Beating Alabama and losing to Tennessee by 1 point in triple OT on an obvious blown call by the officials = Getting jumped by Tennessee + Slim possibility of being jumped by Texas Tech if they streak through the B12 + Probably jumped by either Michigan or Michigan St if one of them breezes through the B10T + UNC jumping over with the right wins.
Losing to Tennessee drops Kentucky back to a low 2/high 3 seed (depending on outcomes, slim chance at a 3). Beating Tennessee won't help seeding one bit. I hope that it's a cakewalk to the tournament championship against the worst teams possible.
This is one of the most battle tested UK teams in recent history, IMO. Duke, UNC, Kansas, UL, etc in the non-con and the SEC is from top down just about as strong as I have ever seen.
Screw a rematch. Give me a 1 seed the easiest way possible.
