My wife and I are considering going to our first SEC Tournament this March and as a rookie I thought I'd come on here (even though it's still a while away) and ask for advice from the users who have been before. I'm especially interested in finding about hotels, packages, and ticketing, but any info/tips/tricks would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and Go Big Blue!

Haha, you're probably right but she's never been to Nashville and has always wanted to so I'd have a hard time sneaking down without her.
Nashville is a great city. One of my favorites in the country. Stay anywhere around Broadway and you can walk to Bridgestone Arena and every bar you could ever want. Even if you stay a little further up (we stayed at a hotel overlooking Vandy football stadium), and it is a $7 Uber down to Bridgestone arena/Broadway. Live music, great food, exceptional atmosphere. I have never been during the SEC tourney, but went for a bachelor party over memorial day weekend last year, and it was electric. I would imagine the atmosphere would be ramped up during SEC tourney with thousands of your best friends wearing blue. Thinking about going myself.

Really though, Nashville is a great time anytime. The SEC is an absolute blast. Been going for about 15 years now. Nashville is the most convenient as everything you would need or want to do is right there. Lot of bars and restaurants. High priced beer. Drink some in hotel. Tickets are easy to get.

I’m from just south of there but live in Georgetown now.

Nashville and New Orleans are the best two places to go to the SEC Tournament. With that being said, expect to spend a decent amount of cash. Hotels get jacked up 3x their normal price. Tickets aren’t as easy to come by as some wouldnhave you think. Yes you can get in, no problem. Just be prepared to pay for those seats. Scalper prices are astronomical. I always say buy on line or from a losing teams fans.

If you’d be willing to stay away from Nashville, get a hotel in Franklin. About a 15 minute drive and prolly half the cost of hotels compared to Nashville for that week. Drive is super easy. Straight up 65 and get off at Broadway then you’re in front of Bridgestone.

We will be going this year and staying at my parents place. Saves a lot of money for us.

If a chick approaches you at a gas station and asks for a cigarette, don't give her a cigarette.
