College baseball regular season games averaged about 130,000 on ESPN networks, which I think is the only network that shows regular season college baseball.

It took the WNBA over 6,400 games since their inception to reach that lofty number of 3.31 million viewers and it was fueled by the Caitlin Clark frenzy of the media. Their average in-house attendance is about 10K - 12K and that has only been in recent years. The men's college world series pulled 3.58 million in 2023 and routinely pulls 1.5 - 2.5 million per game in the championship round. A Club sport does not do that. Regardless of TV views, there is that little ole fact that State fans enjoy baseball. So take your "club sport", put on your best female cheerleader uniform and go cheer for the WNBA.

I don't think anyone thought Mullen was going to stay. He literally job searched every season and never signed his extension until last minute each year (on the years extended).
