Why did all of the good veteran officials leave the conference a few years ago and now we are stuck with OVC REFEREES? This started when the SEC changed assignors!

UK games get called so much different from other games. Our game had 54 fouls which is about average for a UK game. I looked at the other Top 25 team’s games from yesterday and they averaged in the low to mid 30s. So we get 20 more whistles a game and there is no flow to the game. This always helps the weaker team in my mind.

How do you get that 54 fouls is average for a UK game?

We average 17 a game and were called for 26. South Carolina averages 21 a game and were called for 28.

Last night was absurd by any standard.

Painful to watch those refs. If we had eeked out a win I'd still say it was painful to watch.

The SEC has to do something about this. These games are unwatchable. Who wants to watch a free throw shooting contest? They are terribly inconsistent and they call way too many touch fouls.

They need better training, that's for damn sure.

Watching games in other leagues is a completely different experience. There's an actual flow to their games, you literally can't play defense in SEC games. You also can't rebound aggressively.

But it's been like this for many years, so apparently the SEC is fine with it.

Officiating in all sports has gotten bad. It's like watching a bunch of wannabes who couldn't hack it in sports decided to officiate because it was their way in to the spotlight. Also what real punishment do they get. Lose their job? How often does that happen. They just get assigned somewhere else. They don't have to answer to the coaches.

We are getting guys that have spent several years in the OVC and move up when they are not ready? Most of the good officials are working the ACC and Big 12. Is it over money or treatment?

I graduated from UK, but have lived in FL for over 30 years. I knew a SEC basketball official several years ago that seemed like a great guy (here in FL). I did some work for him to promote a business he was in, and have been to parties at his house. I never told him I was from KY. One time, I asked him his view of KY (this was before Cal). It was not good. My point in all of this is simple. THERE IS A NEGATIVE BIAS AGAINST KENTUCKY BASKETBALL BY SOME SEC OFFICIALS. I know this is not shocking news to most, but over the years I have read many posts by fans disputing this claim.

We are getting guys that were not very good in the OVC and the others are the ones that no other conferences want. Up the pay and treatment and they will come home! Get rid of Whitehead the supervisor!

Ego drives these guys, lack of intelligence shows up in almost every game.
