SEC officials are a complete embarrassment

Officiating overall in college basketball is an eyesore, but SEC officials take the cake by a wide margin.

After the last two road games, I’m tired of the constant screwing so we take on the road in SEC play. Absolutely had it. It’s beyond pathetic at this point.

I am not a big blame the ref guy and I hate when people do it. Most times it’s just being a crybaby and whining for no reason.

however, today’s officials were freaking ridiculous.
The last minute is all we needed to see to know we are right. Jordan wanted so badly to figure out how to get Quickley on a flagrant. He wasn’t watching the video, he was contemplating how to frame it.

GARBAGE, HOT, $&@*ing garbage. An embarrassment. Makes the game hard to watch.

It seems like despite the obvious, they just hate to call a foul on the home team when Kentucky is on the road. If they can't see it clearly on the monitor they go a head and give it to the home team. Lets go back to two officials, they can do just as good, you have three out there and nobody wants to upset the home teams fans.

It’s a far greater conspiracy than just the SEC, or even college basketball for that matter. When you understand that any sport that is attached to organized gambling, and the “officials” that call those games are paid in part to FIX the game for the house, everything you see them do starts to make sense.

Quickley was fouled at least twice before that idiot Jordan, and let's face it, he's truly incompetent, blew the whistle. Right in front of him. Pathetic. The call on EJ that led to Cal's ejection was a complete phantom call. The 8-0 foul discrepancy which put Ark in the bonus with 15 minutes to go in the second half was ridiculous. Then, to compound their mistakes, the idiots made 2-3 head scratching calls against Arky that were make ups I assume. Just total incompetence.

This game was bad. I was laughing at the two of the three meaningless calls against Arkansas at the end of the first half..

Like they wanted to purposely even out the fouls a little without having an effect on the game.

This is also par for the course a d getting worse. I didnt watch much NBA because of the refs.. Now I watch more NBA than college game (minus Kentucky)

I didn't think it could get worse than the South Carolina game but it did.
I will go ahead and cop a plea to the tin foil hat syndrome, but I think what we are seeing is more anti-Cal than anti-UK at this point. Why are we always involved in goofy game that the refs take over and just destroy a basketball that happens to be going on before their comedy/drama show begins

It has gotten to the point that it is a surprise if we win a game in the SEC and it may get worse

Jordan did all he possibly could for them. Saw the opportunity to give them a couple of extra points and the ball all in one blow.

Im with Oscar, the SEC brass needs to review this game and on top of that I say discipline these morons.

WTF? The Kentucky Wildcats may be the most tradition riched college team in any sport and they get treated like dog shi& on the road in the SEC and barely get a fair whistle at home.

UK is the SEC cash cow in basketball and carries the SEC banner top notch yet gets screwed unmercifully by SEC officials!

Get it together you haters!

All the money the sec makes in college football and basketball...you would think they could hire professional full time referees. This current model is ridiculous.

This was really bad but the SC game was still worse. SEC ought to be ashamed of itself.

Cal's arrogance probably does form the basis for a lot of their treatment. He works them pretty good, but we are getting some crappy calls. It needs an overhaul for sure, and big changes are needed...immediately. These last two crews were definitely off their games.

Off their game?!?! They aren't supposed to be playing a game. The kids are. I'd say they were most definitely ON their game. Just gotta wonder if they got 30 pieces of silver, like Judas did. Or is it all in unmarked, non sequential bills.

Several thoughts but but a few that come to mind over and over:
1). I don’t care who you are you have to admit there is something to this. Not sure if it is Vegas or Cal hate but it is real.
2). When we play the refs manage the game to keep it close and support our opponent until we break and in our losses it has worked well enough to get us.
3). If they can without being obvious take away a known advantage they will.
4). It does not get better at home.
5). Someone in an authoritative position is going to have to correct it or it will not change. These refs don’t answer to anyone and simply don’t give a ****.
6). Even called games would result in us having 2-3 less losses on the season and comfortably be in the top 5.
7). If we were ever to simply get an even whistle and take the additional ref pressure off of us and put equal game pressure on our opponent we would be pretty damn hard to beat. There’s a lot to be said about playing in fear of the whistle like we have had to all year vs playing comfortable like our opponents have all year.
8). I think Cal agrees and today was his way to let that be known. That situation was orchestrated and planned.
9). It’s not just this season but it is now happening in every game instead of just important ones.

Good post but you could have stopped with #1 It is Cal hate. He can do nothing right according to about 1/3 of this board and we are all UK fans.Imagine how much he is disliked by those who are not UK fans.

It is like Trump coaching a team with Nancy Pelosi and two of her sisters calling the game.

Yeah, it has been brewing in me since we started SEC pay and now we know it has been brewing in Cal also. We won so I'm not making excuses. People here say Cal needs to adjust to the officiating, but how can you do that when we breathe on a guy and it's foul on that end, but we get mugged at the other end and it's a play on. There's no consistency and it has seemed one-sided since we started SEC play. Before then Ashton wasn't close to fouling out and now in back to back games, he has fouled out and then had 4 today. Just call it the same on both sides is all I'm asking, but it's almost like the refs are against us no matter who we play.

In the words of Ashton after the game "we playin 5 on 8 (or 8 on 5) out there" Everybody sees it even the players are starting to speak out.

He bitched about the refs when he misses 7 layups and has at least 5 ridiculous turnovers every game ?
