I think it’ll end up being texas. I think they played a home game last season. And they’ll probably be at least expected to be decent again.

Frankly i still think Chris Beard is just a poor mans Calipari in terms of play style. So in rupp that should be a comfortable win.

We'd still be 4-1 in the last 5 had we played the game in 2021, so that's still good.

It's almost certainly going to be KU....surely they wouldn't let KU have 2 home games against us in the series and only give us one home game against them.

If not KU, probably Baylor or Texas IMO.

We have played 2 straight road games in the series (@Texas Tech and @KU), so I don't think they really mind giving a team a 2nd straight road game if it's the most compelling matchup.

true....but i'm wondering if they are counting 2021 even though that game was cancelled for UK.

We actually owed Kansas a game in the phog because we played them in rupp in 2017 and 2019 without playing them on the road in between.

Looking at the games from last season it’ll either be Texas or Texas Tech again. Tech owes us a game in rupp and were actually better than Texas last season.

I think Kansas will get Tennessee this year.

I generally prefer WVU.

I know Cincinnati, Houston, and UCF have all ponied up to leave the AAC early and join the Big 12 for next season. Why wouldn't we land the Bearcats?

They're another team we used to play that we ought to rotate on to our schedule. So damn tired of Poop State.

Don’t see anyway it’s not Baylor…..ESPN wants KU but I imagine the rest of the BIG 12 would complain if the conference office bowed down to ESPN. (As an aside Drew has let it be known to the media he is VERY interested in the UK job and I think if Cal left today he would be our next coach.)

I agree, but more likely we get a 3rd straight road game.

We really didn't use to play them. I mean we did before most of us were UK fans (played 7 times in 14 year period 57-70). Other than multi-game tournaments, it looks like 2018 is the only time we've played them since 1970.

As for rotating through our schedule, we should do that with WKU, Murray, Morehead, & EKU. Well the last 2 get their share, but not the first 2 (the better 2).

its going to be KANSAS OR TEXAS, no other teams will be considered. espn wants the viewers and no other teams will give them the matchup they want.

We played Cincinnati quite a few times in the 80s including the infamous 24-11 game. What are you looking at? We didn't even play them in 2018. The last time we played was 2015. I'm talking about Cincinnati now. Who are you talking about?

I’m over here trying to figure out why everyone thinks Texas is a more marquee matchup than Baylor. Has anyone been paying attention the last 10 years or so? Baylor has a much, much stronger program. Not sure why ESPN would prefer a UK - Texas matchup to a UK - Baylor matchup. Help me understand?

If Baylor had a road game last season at Bama then I think its safe to assume it will be either Texas or Texas Tech.
Seems like Self said something after we beat them at the Phog last year about UK and Kansas always being matched up in the challenge so again,I would assume ESPN will take note and mix it up this year.WVU owes us a home game as does Texas Tech.We actually owe Texas a road game.

more than likely it will be, KANSAS VS AUBURN, BAYLOR VS TENN, AND EITHER TEXAS TECH OR TEXAS VS KENTUCKY. AS A RULE THEY GO BY HOW TYEAMS FINISHED IN THE PREVIOU YEAR AS TO WHO THEY PLAY. or they use it as a guideline and adjust as they go along for home and away games

It’s gonna be boring either way if it’s not KU, so might as well just host Kansas State for a little PJ Washington 8-20 payback. Texas is a snooze-fest of a game. Baylor would be okay I guess, would also be a little payback from the Rupp loss and when the UK women’s team screwed us by going into OT for what seemed like an eternity.

I have a problem with the whole alternating of home and away. I mean that kind of eliminates half the possibilities lol.

So that being said, I'd like to see Baylor UK. We've seen Kansas seemingly 1000 times. We see WVU from time to time. I'd like to see someone that's good who we haven't played in awhile.

We have played West Virginia only one time in the challenge and that was at Morgantown so they owe us a game at Rupp.
We haven't played TCU,Oklahoma State,Iowa State,Kansas State or Oklahoma.
We have played Baylor once in the challenge in Dallas and Texas Tech once at their place. We have played Texas once at Rupp.
The rest have been Kansas.
