The ticket office is dealing with an overwhelming amount of complaints and issues with tickets. They said they would be finalized by the end of the weekend— which I assume means there are going up be some changes.

Got my email today as well. We stayed in 110 but just barely - lol - we are on the 111 side of 110 rather than the 109 side if that makes any sense. As Nate said, it could be worse. It will be interesting to see how many RC members bought season tickets for WBB in order to get in the conversation for post-season "hosting - at - home" NCAA tickets - according to a friend who is a huge Diamond Heels supporter this is going on over on the baseball side already.

Yep. Baseball is a little different thought. 30+ games and early start times during the week. We got baseball season tickets for the first time last year- primarily for guarantee of regional tickets. We opted for the cheap GA option since we knew we couldn’t be there every game. We always attend a handful of games and post season, but opted to go up another level. Attended every weekend series and >2/3 of games. You can’t even give away those mid-week non-conference games at 4:00 starts. We tried.

That started after the 2009 season. We hosted ECU in the Super Regional, and WAY too many high ranking Rams Club members ordered the maximum number of tickets, passing along a significant number of those tickets to their ECU friends / family members / business associates. The result was some season ticket holders were shut out on tickets. When Coach Fox found out what happened, he insisted that a policy change be implemented that guaranteed season ticket holders their seats for postseason games.

I hesitate to say this out of fear someone in the AD's office might read it and decide they can jack up the prices, but season ticket prices for baseball and women's hoops are very reasonable, when compared to the cost of men's hoops. That can encourage people to buy season tickets, even knowing they might only attend a few games.

I still think the ticket office needs to reward commitment and years of being a ticket holder. We are just entering Year 4 ourselves, but haven’t missed a home game yet. IMO, if you have your season tickets scanned for every game and the seats are filled, there should be and option to click in the process to guarantee those same seats if you’d like. And then fill everything up with priority points and ranking. Like others have stated, there needs to be a multi-year lock if this is going to be our seating plans in Carmichael going forward- 2 year lock.

Yep. 3rd straight year of price increases for WBB. It’s inevitable, but still a great bargain.

A little comparison:
-our prices range from $110-$220
-Duke: $106-$250
-State: $150-$190+ yearly donation of up to $200 to program per ticket

I'm able to download my parking pass but not the tickets. My Goheels account says I'm in section 104 at the moment but I'll feel better when I can download them.

I've had season tickets for 4 years now but it's impossible for me to make every game. I work a 12 hour rotating shift and I live in SC. If it's at all possible I try to be there or give my tickets to someone else.

We've had season tickets since their inception and were regular attendees in the non-season ticket era - often getting to the games 1.5 - 2 hours ahead of time to make sure we could get a decent seat in what was the aluminum bench seating for my elderly mother who was still alive at the time and became a huge UNC WBB fan after moving here from Connecticut in the late 90's. Anyone on this board besides me remember when tiny stuffed Chick Fil-A cows were tossed into the stands for fans? I still have a couple of those cows! :D When Jessica Gaspar blew her knee out she slid across the court almost right into where we were seated which is now section 109. We don't do men's bball or FB season tix, however, so are not very "big" Rams as these things go but we have increased our level of RC membership over the last couple of years. Like some other posters, on the rare occasion that we can't make it to a game, we make sure to get our tickets into the hands of friends of ours who are also UNC fans so that our seats will be filled.

That decision would be made by either the Rams Club or AD... not by the ticket office... and history tells us that won't happen. For many decades, football season ticket holders were allowed to keep their same seats, as long as they contributed at a certain level (Big Ram?). That all changed around 12 years ago, when the Rams Club realized they were missing out on a significant amount of money, because a quite a few prime location seats were locked in by members who were only paying the minimum required to keep the seats. That caused the Rams Club to implement the reseating process, where you get to pick your seats and lock them in for 3 years. They go straight down the points list every 3 years for the selection process.

Baseball was similar. Donors to the Boshamer renovation project were allowed to pick their seats, and the location was locked in for 10 years. In reality, the location was locked in for 15+ years, until this year, when the number of season ticket holders exploded. What happens now hasn't been made completely clear, You are allowed to request your same seats, but it sounds like if someone with more points requests your current seats, you will be moved elsewhere. What isn't clear is what happens if someone DOES request my current seats? What are my options at that point? As noted earlier in this thread, I don't want the ticket office determining the "best available" seats for me.

Oh man, I vividly remember that knee injury. I was a kid and she was my favorite player. She went down, grabbed the knee, and spun herself around on the court in pain. I bet I still have one of those cows around here somewhere. 😂

My son (now in his 30's) had a HUGE crush on her! He insisted that we purchase a particular "beanie baby" to aid in her recovery so we searched the Triangle far and wide until we found it. He delivered it to the WBB office and got the sweetest thank you note from her. 🥰

We requested our current seats (3rd row, 113) & were moved to 210. I’m sure some algorithm (or staffer) thought half court was better, but being out of the lower bowl is a bummer. Possibly enough of one to make us rethink season tix.

Understand your thinking. We got moved also. But I will say your new seats are really great for watching the game. Give it a try and see what you think.

Seriously? I don’t use setbacks but they don’t take up much space. And asking for different seats now would put you in much worse seats.

the problem with seatbacks is that some available on the market are wider than your allotted bench space. Put 4 in a row and you have effectively eliminated someone else's seat.

But As I said in the other thread, the solution is to have them on offer from the university to be installed for you all season for a fee. This service is in wide use nationally and has even been used by UNC FB in the past. Fans get what they want and UNC has another revenue stream for WBB. Win-win.

They had the entire off season to figure this out.

Yep. And they have things for the bleachers that chairbacks can fold over so that you can still close the bleachers and open the courts back up from practices if needed.

This may be in the minority, but my recommendation is to put the students back at center court in the bleachers in the middle at section 117 (overflow goes to upper level baselines and remains the same as it is now). They can make a heck of a lot more noise stomping in the bleachers than on concrete. Put the band in 118. That opens up 101, 102, and 103 for reserved season ticket holders with chairbacks- an additional 360 seats. For me, bleachers are not a problem, but for people I attend games with, simply looking at people that have been attending for years, an older average age of a lot of people- I know it has to be challenging.

Again, like 3397 mentioned. The simple solution is to put in a chairback. A simple brace/holder and a 2x4 would suffice and give some leeway. Still allowing seat cushions in and it's not really a problem. But highly disappointed this was not thought through. We are 6 days from tip off and having this issue. It should have been determined and stated on the request for tickets you could not bring them in- an option to check for a definite "no" to bleacher seats.

I just spoke to 3 long-time ticket holders who have called the ticket office and canceled their order. They have had tickets since Ivory. The ticket office told them, they could move them to Rows 10 and 12 on the upper sideline.

I am not surprised that some have cancelled. The idea of putting the students in the bleachers is excellent. I am going to see how this year goes and may be forced to make a decision myself. I have had back surgery and at times it still gives quite a lot of pain.

I am liking this idea! Let the students and their young, healthy backs have the section 117 bleachers! And put the band in 118 right across from the visiting bench.

I wonder if Courtney had any input into putting students behind both baskets? I can see an advantage in having young, energetic fans making noise and waving their arms when the opponent is shooting FTs throughout the game.

The students used to be there several years ago, but complained and got moved. This was of course before interest increased for WBB

Is tomorrow’s game against NCCU not part of season tickets?
It is not part of your season tickets- it is free for everyone to go to. Stop by the ticket office and collect your ticket when you get to Carmichael. They typically reserve a couple of the LL sections for ticket holders and regular people on field trip day.

Think ahead about your parking strategy. Nothing special for this game.
Parking will be available in a couple of the "pay" lots tomorrow - I believe the lots are the Bell Tower Lot and Raleigh Rd lot. ADA parking will be at Cobb Deck. I understand that we have elementary/middle school students coming in from 35 different counties tomorrow so it is going to be a much better attended "School Day" event than in previous years which is great! As Coach B says, bring your earplugs!

A season ticket holder update - it appears as though the season ticket holder "punch card" from years' past has been replaced by 3 "Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Games" - Nov. 6, Dec. 17, and Feb. 5. On those days, season ticket holders get in line, your name is checked off and you pick up whatever the "gift" is for the date. Nov. 6 was a T shirt.
If anyone else has information confirming this or knows what other plan is in place for season ticket holder "rewards" this season, please post.

I was in line when I heard one of the students say “We’re not doing that this year” when asked about the punch card so I believe you are right.
