I don’t have a specific year but for probably the last decade you could login and buy tickets when they were announced as available after the season ticket renewal period. You wouldn’t be able to do this with a waiting list. I was never on a waiting list and got mine during the Callahan years.

I think the waiting list has been a myth since the early 1970’s. If you had enough money to join a booster club, you mysteriously jumped ahead of the people on the phantom list that we keep referencing. My Dad called in 1975 and was told what he had to do. I got mine in 1987 with no wait by simply joining the touchdown club.

Well I am not going to say the above posts are wrong but will share my experience. We were on the"list" in the 80s. My dad got a phone call from the development office after the orange bowl loss to FSU in 93 wanting to know if he wanted additional tickets. By that time all of us siblings were married and out of school so he turned them down. I couldn't believe it and told him that was a huge mistake considering how long we were on the"list". Then we won a national championship and the waiting list got long again.

The next opportunity to aquire tickets came with the north end zone expansion. I was contacted by the development office (by this time I was in charge of our season tickets) if I was interested in tickets. It was the spring of the year and funds were tight so I passed. Later in the summer I reminded myself that as hard as tickets were to come by, you never turn down tickets if NU is calling. So I changed my mind and inquired late. They told me that based on priority points I could get tickets for the same per seat booster donation. So I picked up 2.

Next opportunity to get additional tickets came with the east stadium expansion. Pretty much the same process and I picked up 4 more. Then after the seat yourself process the next year I moved my 2 north stadium seats to the east expansion. Love it up there.

So is there a list? I say yes. However, IF you open up the check book and pay $500 minimum per seat, I'm reasonably sure you can get tickets. There are some tickets that require little or no booster donation. That's where the"list" is.

They did revamp the priority points system and how it's utilized. More emphasis is put on current giving as opposed to longevity. This allows folks to pony up immediate funds to get what they want.

Anyway, that is my experience. Take it for what it is worth, but there is a waiting list. But as above posters noted, there's ways to get ahead of the list. It's called booster donation at the level where the tickets are available. IF there's 500 people on the waiting list and the lowest booster donation seat is $500 per seat, IF you are number 499 on the waiting list and are willing to pay the$500 per seat, you're going to get tickets as long as you pay your booster donation every year. IF you are not willing to do that, you will remain on the waiting list.

I think basketball tickets will be harder to come by. 15k seats vs 90k seats and I think we'll be a contender in hoops sooner than football.

So if I wanted 4 season tickets and put up the cost of the tickets plus 4K donation to whatever club. I would have a good chance of getting them?

Might be too late for this year since the limited amounts of tickets available go on sale tomorrow morning..... guaranteed they are very high up and don't warrant $1000 each plus cost of tickets. HOWEVER, this would get your foot in the door and you can use the seat yourself process next year to improve. But yes, IF you get ahold of the development office and pledge$1000 per seat booster donation, I would be shocked if they couldn't find you tickets. Again, best time is after the season. But, we could be entering a time like the 90s where the "questionable list" was long.

Best of luck. IF you are seriously interested. Call at 7:50 tomorrow morning would be my suggestion.
