I said 9 wins for Nebraska. I was wrong. Going with 11 wins next year, including bowl game. Go big or go home.

I could of sworn you told me in a post Frost would win 9, I thought 6-7 for sure that is when you posted 9....but so be it

Told you about how tough Troy could be and how difficult it would have been for any hire Nebraska made winning more than one road game would be very difficult..

I don’t remember what I predicted; definitely not 4-8. Going into the season I believed that the OSU and Wisconsin games were two almost sure losses. I think I felt like MSU, Northwestern, and Iowa were all toss-ups and depending on how they went would determine whether NU was 10-2 and 7-5.

All of that is consistent with how well I normally predict things.

Other than mixing up your NU's, you were spot on.

I think I said 7 wins, but the way this season played out is why I don't like to make firm preseason predictions. If you would have told me before the season that we'd go 4-8, I would have thought I'd be pretty upset at the end of the season, which on the contrary, I'm actually as optimistic as I've been in a long, long time. But I also never expected we'd start 0-6, and finish 4-2 with two close losses on the road. I completely underestimated just how bad things had gotten physically and mentally under Riley and I didn't know there was going to have to be the big culture change that happened. Bottom line for me is you can predict a final record, but how things play out to get to that record is more important than the actual number.

I think I predicted 8 wins for the team. I thought we had 8 winnable games on our schedule with those being:
Akron(replace them with BC)
Colorado
Troy
Northwestern
Purdue
Illinois
Minnesota
Iowa

I don't think that I was too far off as BC, Illinois, Minnesota were all wins and all of the other games were winnable, but we either just didn't finish, made mistakes to cost us games, etc. I guess you could say that Purdue beat us bad enough that we probably wasn't in that one, but we traded that one for a win against Michigan State that I didn't have on the list.

I was off just a little on Nebraska, had them losing just 1 game, to Ohio State.

I had 6-1 at home (MSU as the loss) and 0-5 on the road. Thought we'd be Pinstripe-bound. Who knew Purdue game wasn't winnable?

Predictions are interesting in that they generally only take into account your team. Nebraska SHOULD always beat the likes of Troy, Akron, Purdue, etc. Well, some of the teams that were "sure wins" are not due to some of them getting better and us getting worse.

It is interesting to see the posts about how weak the West is in the conference only to have our Huksers near the bottom of the heap. How do you square all of that? We simply have a long ways to go.

I didn't post a prediction on here but a Nebraska alum and I agreed before the season that it would be difficult to get more than a handful of wins.

Plenty thought the Colorado and Troy games were just as winnable..Win 2 of 3 of those games and we’d be freezings our butts in Yankee studuim..
