If it's the Princeton I'm thinking of that's an awfully long way for a scrimmage lol
That has to be a 6+ hour drive on a bus, each way. Not sure that really helps either team, especially for a scrimmage.
I've heard Princeton is doing some other activities while in the area, team building, etc.
We (Shelby) currently scrimmaging Corvian
Those two D tackles they have are huge and athletic, they gonna be a handful for 1a 2a whatever they are...
Our defense is nearly killing their QB though
they are big and fast across the board
We lead 13-0 right now

Mitchell look strong in their scrimmage, looks like they have passing attack this year. Only ran ball few plays.
Ah the charter school plague. Hate it for those divisions. I seen other forum 13-7, Shelby just pull starters or corvian that good to keep yall at bay?
Mallard Creek jr. not even Shelby is safe against the mighty charter schools lol

We'll probably see the day they run bottom four classes. Might do something about it then.
Tarboro taught them a lesson a couple years ago and Murphy last year so hopefully we'll never see the day lol

I have a hard time believing they’ll ever create a playoff solely for charters. Personally think the best option is bumping them a classification or two, recruiting players has to count for something.
I’ve been hearing how loaded they are this year. Probably a good year to win it since some other programs are rebuilding this year. With that said, they had a hard time stopping the young man from Murphy last year, and he happens to be back.
They received a ton of hype last year at the jamboree as well. Still think they need to get past Murphy before worrying about winning it all. From what I've seen if it's a physical football team that plays corvian, they lose.

Their defensive front is very impressive.... two d tackles, if healthy will cause havoc in 2a ball
We had it down around the 20 two or maybe 3 more times turned it over on downs, and we pulled all the starters out after the first quarter.. what that thread failed to mention is once we pulled the starters off the D, they scored their 7 on a long pass, got it back and we held them around the 2-3 yard line with no time left or they would have won the scrimmage
the starting defense nearly killed their QB a time or ten, but Corvian is good, big strong defensive front and athletes all over the field...they can be had on the perimeter though

Any final word about the scrimmage between Starmount and Hibriten. Not knowing myself how scrimmages work: do the teams play a certain of downs, or is it more like a real game where they play for a final score? Can you share the final outcome? Thx

Each team ran 10 plays on offense and defense twice (20 plays) alternating after 10 plays. Starmount scored twice and Hibriten once. Rams scores were a 8 yard run by Propst and a TD pass by Williams from Best.
Then they went game situation like 4 plays to make a first down. Hibriten scored twice (one was a pick 6) and Starmount scored once (80+ yard pass from Best to H Brown).
JV Rams looked very good by scoring 4 scores to one.
Tonight, Starmount will be at Forbush to scrimmage North and Central Davidson.

Smoky Mountain Conference against the Mountain Athletic Conference tonight at the Buncombe County Jamboree. Murphy - TC Roberson, Swain County - AC Reynolds, Robbinsville - Erwin. I'm not entirely sure of the format. Hoping the 1A/2A boys get good looks and come out healthy and unscathed.
It should be a half of football for each game. Will probably sub JV and varsity backups in halfway through the second quarter.
