Mike Repole does have bottomless pockets. He is the sole reason St. Johns has been so good the past few years.

Pitino has said he's doesn't even bother recruiting HS kids. It's a waste of time, he said. He just picks and chooses the very best portal guys each year thanks to the huge NIL budget he has.

Repole is the reason Pitino went to St. Johns. He knew he'd be able to assemble a Final 4 caliber team every year. Preseason predictions have St. Johns and UConn as the top 2 teams in Big East again this season.
