It’s insane how they are tearing apart these tour level courses like this. They limited the driver COR so long ago and it hasn’t made one difference. The Tour ball is the only way this will stop. When I played golf everyday in High School and college up until I was about 30 I was almost scratch. I usually sat around a 2-3 handicap. I played Valhalla from the championship tees 3 times. The best I scored was a 78. Part of that is I’ve never been a terribly long hitter, but damn. They shoot 64-65 out there like it’s nothing.Never been done in Tour history. Craziness.

Ask Foxy about his Cocksman days. Dude is a hound. Lol.Dang man you sound like you were a hell of a golfer!
He hadn't taken more than 4 strokes on any hole all week until he got a pared on a par 5What does that mean? A 5? Don’t follow golf at all. Like a par 5?
Appreciate it. That’s good right? He hadn't taken more than 4 strokes on any hole all week until he got a pared on a par 5
It's virtually unprecedented. 4 straight rounds and every hole is 4 strokes or less is NUTS. These guys are basically machines. I play golf and you can be super focused and still have a bad hole. He's not just parring, he's birdieing all the P5s.Appreciate it. That’s good right?
Yeah sounds like it. He was on his game huh? 4 straight rounds, is it 18 holes each round? It's virtually unprecedented. 4 straight rounds and every hole is 4 strokes or less is NUTS.
Wyndham Clark was just unconscious. He’s pretty good and going to finish 3rd. Tells you it’s a great field of golfers
Can you answer my question I asked earlier about the rounds. Y’all got me interested in it now. Lol.Wyndham Clark was just unconscious.
I played in high school and college. I wish I played more today. My back is really bad now. I have a hard time getting out. I used to work at a course so I practiced and played a ton.Dang man you sound like you were a hell of a golfer!
Yeah that’s ridiculous to never make a bogey on a par 4, a double on a par 3, or a par on a par 5. Crazy really over one round, let alone 4.Appreciate it. That’s good right?
Is each round 18 holes?Yeah that’s ridiculous to never make a bogey on a par 4, a double on a par 3, or a par on a par 5. Crazy really over one round, let alone 4.
Yeah, 72 hole tournaments. Is each round 18 holes?

18 holes total? Or 18 each round? Sorry for my ignorance on the subject. It’s 4 rounds of 18 holes

Damn. That seems like a **** ton of golf That is very impressive.Yeah, 72 hole tournaments.
Sounds like you were a damn good player. It’s insane how they are tearing apart these tour level courses like this. They limited the driver COR so long ago and it hasn’t made one difference. I would have been one of those guys throwing my clubs in the lake. So I gave it up.
That would be really fun. I love going to Tour events. Short game is where you scoring is made. It helps bombing it 330 but you will make your score with wedges and putts.Sounds like you were a damn good player.
I never got into golf much. I think I could have been decent. I could drive the hell out of it. But my mid range game and short game were not so good.
I would have been one of those guys throwing my clubs in the lake. So I gave it up.
One of my best friends was a great golfer. He was a football star too and football injuries affected his golf career. But he was a career pro. Before turning pro he won the Ky amateur a couple times.
He’s a tour official now. So he still makes his living on golf.
Yes, it’s a beautiful thing to watch. Nothing like having a good day on the course. It’s insane how they are tearing apart these tour level courses like this. lol. Get out there and keep trying. The more you play the better feel you’ll get and start hitting better shots. It takes time to be consistent, but that’s the best thing about it I think.18 holes total? Or 18 each round? Sorry for my ignorance on the subject.
Nevermind. Fox answered it. That’s a lot of holes.
I always wanted to golf but I’m the ultimate shanker. Nobody is safe on the course if I’m taking a wack at a golf ball lol.
Well that was a par 66 course. It’s insane how they are tearing apart these tour level courses like this. They limited the driver COR so long ago and it hasn’t made one difference. It’s highly debatable if that putrid course is “tour level “ though . That course should never host a PGA event imo .It’s insane how they are tearing apart these tour level courses like this. Yeah , on basically a “pitch and putt” golf course.Wyndham Clark had the round of a lifetime![]()
Idk I’ve never seen it before this week that I remember. I know it had a full renovation, but again that course shows why the ball needs a limit on tour. Courses are already insanely long at 7400-7500 yards in a lot of cases and they make it look easy. I wouldn’t call the course putrid though, it’s a very nice course. It’s highly debatable if that putrid course is “tour level “ though . That course should never host a PGA event imo .
I thought it looked rough. Looked like it was in the middle of a subdivision. Scottie shot -31 there last year and Clark shot a -30 this year. Some of the par 4’s were the length my group plays ,lol.Idk I’ve never seen it before this week that I remember. Yeah. I’d like to. Might as well. I guess going to the driving range would be a good first step?lol. Get out there and keep trying. The more you play the better feel you’ll get and start hitting better shots. It takes time to be consistent, but that’s the best thing about it I think.
It’s nice to have them, but they need to be set up the proper way. There are many drive-able par 4’s on the PGA every year in majors where you can drive them and make Eagle or put it in a bad spot and make double easy. It should only be like one hole a side max though.I thought it looked rough. Looked like it was in the middle of a subdivision. Scottie shot -31 there last year and Clark shot a -30 this year. imo a course with multiple drivable par 4’s shouldn’t be hosting pga events .
Yeah go to the range, get a couple lessons. Figure out the proper way to approach the game first. Work on your short game the most. After you start playing a couple years buy some clubs that are fitted to you.Yeah. I’d like to. Might as well. I guess going to the driving range would be a good first step?
Thanks homie. Yeah I got some clubs that were my grandpas before he passed. I’ll have to look them over. Been a while.Yeah go to the range, get a couple lessons. Figure out the proper way to approach the game first. Work on your short game the most. After you start playing a couple years buy some clubs that are fitted to you.
My advice is to take at least a couple of lessons before even going to the driving range and developing bad swing habits that you will fight the rest of your life .Yeah. I’d like to. Might as well. I guess going to the driving range would be a good first step?
