The local Penn State coverage up here is talking about Thanksgiving. In my opinion, too little, too late.
For the longest time I’ve thought there’s no way or chance we are having a college football season and we may still not have one. If not and for the record, I’m still Pick’m Champ. Whatever we have won’t be anything that resembles normal. The independent spirit and tenacity in me does applaud the SEC, Big XII, and even those basketball first weak pansies on Tobacco Road in the ACC for trying. Heck I applaud Conference USA, Sunbelt, and everyone else who is trying to play college or high school football. It’s a positive step towards moving fwd and not quitting. You have to walk to move fwd.
With all that said the B1G has turned into a Total JOKE. I don’t count or care about the PAC 12 cause the areas there don’t care about college football (unless USC is at a dynasty level or outside of Utah). You cancel the September season 1st among P5 conferences about 2 months before the first game would even be played and after looking like your conference brass & schools leadership is amateur hour for 3 weeks you then decide ‘we’ll start at Thanksgiving’???????
The B1G will suffer over this and I wouldn’t be shocked if certain schools don’t eventually leave unless a new old school commissioner is brought in. You can’t tell me that at a minimum Ohio State, Meat Chicken, and Nebraska aren’t looking around saying WTF has this carnival ride become? Sandusky State is to but I hate them. If there is a season, even a 75% of the games played season amongst the conferences who do play, then the B1G conference looks incompetent at a $100 million dollar minimum loss level.

They are trying to find a compromise.

I find Scott Van Pelt to be entertaining and agree with his comments, but he did attend the University of Maryland, a school in a state that is run by Democrat Senators and Congressmen, as well as a Trump-hating RINO Governor, all of whom are happy that the B1G isn't playing football anytime soon. Perhaps, the bald and bespectacled one should unload on those a little closer to home. I'd love it.

Perhaps, you're right, but SVP has already spoken out against the B1G, and ESPiN still has contracts with the B1G, albeit not to the extent that it does the SEC and ACC. If SVP simply took the side of the group of the B1G parents raising he!! about this issue, including Shaun Wade's father, then he could probably get away with more criticism.

It was unbelievably stupid for the Big 10 to cancel the season long before they had to. It's simple. Try to play in the fall when football is normally played. If you can play, great, if you can't play then wait until next year. They're going to start football season in November or January or whatever? It's ridiculous.

The Big Ten and Pac 12 made a courageous decision to hold off play, hold off infecting more students and creating spreading/outbreaks all over their states and cities and towns.
Others are choosing politics and money over people's health and well being and even lives and that is a sad shame.
The world wouldn't end if college football held off until the spring in order to evaluate how safe it would be to play. It wouldn't destroy anything, the season would still be played.
Instead, amidst numerous breakouts shutting down practices all over covid hotspots, and real players getting sick from the disease, people who don't pay attention to science or care about their fellow Americans are rushing to force play as though their lives depended on it, all to try and project the false picture that the Covid 19 outbreak has magically dissappeared to excuse away absolute inaction from the current "administration" in Washington.

Adam Rittenberg of ESPN is reporting that B1G Presidents voted 11-3 to postpone the football season, and that the Presidents of these schools voted to play: Ohio State, Nebraska, and Iowa.
Good chance a lot of people are in the ear of the administration at Ohio State
