This sucks. No matter what the numpties cheerlead for, there is only 1 maybe 2 segments that are doing well. The rest of the economy (and stock market) are mid at best.

Bessent is historically regarded as a pretty competent and able guy by those that know him. He has completely taken the knee and has shown himself to be a pretty feeble liar as well. I hope he loses a lot of sleep over it.

don't know about Bessent taking a knee...you have to work with what you've got.

It seems to me that prior to this "excursions" things with the economy were going well...not perfect as some might claim, but OK.

This war has changed things considerably ...gas prices..diesel prices and resultant higher prices as they flow through the economy. Personally, I feel momentum shifting negatively in the economy. While we've known it was coming, crossing $40 trillion, is still a negative milestone. Now, with the war shifting to economical one, and Trump threatening economic actions to other countries, I could see things going in the wrong direction quickly. It feels to me that Trump is losing control and is doubling down - which IMO is the wrong move

Appears there is something to that…

Everything Trump touches dies. He was a head scratching pick to begin with. Mostly Trump picked fan boys and losers who couldn't hold a job outside of the cult echo chamber to fill his cabinet. Bessent is rich, and had a career. Borgum, too. Why did he join up? 2028, I assume.
The stink isn't going to wash off, boys.

Agreed, but you can't deny that while the Republicans put forward one of the worst candidates in history, the Dems managed to lose to him... TWICE.

Yeah, it's sad. He was a raging incompetent from 2017-2021, then staged a coup, and in 2024 49.8 percent of the people who voted thought he deserved a second chance because Kamala Harris has a weird laugh. Is this the fault of the Dems, or a sign of where we are as a country?
