Scoring one (or two)-hit-wonders?

[blacklistedbully]

Let's see what you've got! Link a youtube video if you can. If you're up for it, reply to other's entries with a rating on a scale of 1-10. Here's one to start:
"Bang a Gong (Get It On)" by T-Rex

[blacklistedbully]

"Come and Get Your Love" by Redbone

[Maroon Eagle]

Love T. Rex. The reasons they’re a one-hit wonder are geography and Marc Bolan’s early death which is similar for Thin Lizzy here...

"Stuck In The Middle With You" by Stealers Wheel

Outstanding! First time I've seen the video. Killer song & awesome video!
I'll give it at least an 8...maybe 9.

"My Sharona" The Knack

Interesting. I always thought Van wrote that song.

Doesn't sound like Haggar to me.

When one looks up, "One hit wonder" in the dictionary, there's probably a pic of The Knack in there.

Your post lead me to google who the girl is in this video...Kimbra. Watched a few of her music videos on youtube. She's fantastic!

Interesting. I always thought Van wrote that song.

Assuming you are referring to Van Morrison's Moondance.

An oldie but we still hear it occasionally. "Stumblin' In" performed by Suzy Quatro and Chris Norman. Suzy played Leather Tuscadero in a few episodes of "Happy Days". She had a few other songs but this is the most well-known I believe.

Actually, doing some googling has revealed that Dancing in the Moonlight is often misattributed to Van Morrison. I'm guessing that back in the Napster/LimeWire days I downloaded a version that listed Van Morrison as the artist and I've have been misinformed ever since.

You left off the sarcasterisks, right. I mean the Stones have sold 1/4 of a billion albums, so they were not one hit wonders. No idea how many singles they sold. (Don't give me ****, they were called albums for about the first half of the Stones' run)

[aTotal360]

Sorry. I don't listen to indy bands.

[Mjoelner]

Here is another one I thought of. Maybe not a big hit but I liked it back in the day.

The video is awesome!
1. Imagine if Buddy Holly and Weird Al had a kid.
2. Is that his mother in the video?

[DesotoCountyDawg]

He was a two hit wonder. Also charted with “Love is Like a Rock”.

[DesotoCountyDawg]

[karlchilders.sixpack]

Right Said Fred

I'm Too Sexy For My Shirt

[the dog is on the loose]

Love that song

Always liked that song. Always thought he favored Buddy Holly too

[Bobby Ricigliano]

Helluva cover band, though.

[Bobby Ricigliano]

Mick & Keith’s other hit.
