We usually do one the day before the game.

I am still working on my multivariate reverse-regression predictive model. As soon as I get the latest set of vitals from coaches Fitzgerald and Jones, and barometric pressure 12 hours before kickoff, I should have a prediction at p90.

Do the Vols players have any issues with playing in earlier time zones that is detrimental to their play like it adversely impacted the Stanford players when they played us? ;)

UT 55 NU 2. No chance against SEC speed with our big slow farm boys. Football Phil tosses around a few trolls for second half entertainment.

I think we are 3x good as the Voles: offense, defense, and special teams.

33-17 Vols. I could see this going bad for the Vols but I predict it will be like Iowa last year. Their board was fun during the game. There were plenty of post talking about SEC speed that day...

Double overtime, when the 'Cats score the golden goal.

Oh, wait. Wrong sport.

I will maintain my score guess, though, excluding the overtime.

NU 35 - Vols 24.

Vols will make it look easy on their first drive, like our opponents seem to do this year, before we start to make adjustments on D.

Been enjoying reading your boards since the bowl game was announced. It's no surprise that most of the rude/disrespectful/ignorant Vol posters that you've put up with this month are either non-paying members on our site or on my ignore list. Every fan-base has 'em.

This Tennessee team is really hitting it's stride. It's easy to point out the fourth quarter melt-downs early in the session but I attribute those more to the growing pains of young players and a young team than poor conditioning or lack of skill. It also should not be ignored that two of the Vol losses, and one of the melt-down, were to two of the four teams in the playoff.

I see this as a 37-13 Vol victory if both teams play their typical game. If NU plays lights-out, the 'Cats can win. If the Vols play lights-out, its 45-7 early in the fourth.

May the better team win and...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I get Tennessee winning, perhaps, but I don't see how anyone thinks a big score is coming for the no wage employees/non-inducted conscripts. Our D deserves a lot more respect than that.

Tennessee is a lot like Nebraska on defense. They do reasonably well against the run but aren't as good in pass defense. They struggle with INT's and have allowed many passing TD's. For that reason, I think Thorson will have similar results as he did against Stanford and Nebraska. His added experience along with an OL that seems to have finally gelled will put our offense north of 21 pts without a doubt.

Tennessee has a solid rush offense but we match up great with those sorta offenses. We will slow them down a lot. But their special teams will put them in position to win. A close game, but the better team wins tomorrow.

I agree with NUThump. The Vols first possession will look impressive but if it takes more than six plays the Cats will adjust and lock the Vols down for the rest of the game.

I have a feeling that we are not the team they are expecting to play and if we get some momentum, this could be our statement game of the season.

I like that score: The Vols prove their special team prowess with 4 field goals, but share Christian McCaffrey's fate and never see purple paydirt. Walker gets a pick six and the Cats get two field goals on short fields.
