Where are all the knee jerk panic stricken “fans” who predictably and prematurely jumped on Cal during the 2nd half? These are the kinds of wimps you don’t want on your team during crunch time.
I didn’t jump on him, but I sure as hell wasnt happy about the lead evaporating. But truth...hell of a call that led to PJ’s and 1.

Funny how that works. Cal all the sudden is terrible when the guys aren’t playing well. Course, none of those losers were posting positive threads in the first half.
If they actually posted positive stuff regularly, I would think differently of them. Cuz legit criticisms are fine.

Nailed it bud. Not gonna act like I’ve never second guessed him, but Cal dialed it up I’m the last 2 minutes. W is a W...on to the Elite 8.
I think that is also a valid point and don’t disagree.
Only thing I can think of is that they seemed to make some defensive second half adjustments to try and double the post even more quickly then in the first half. I think there were several early attempts to go down low to both PJ & TR that resulted in turnovers bc of very quick double teams.
But, we still should have forced it down low as the lead slowly dwindled. Eventually, that is exactly what Cal did. But, there is a legit question as to why it wasn’t tried a little sooner.
Happy for the win. Guys withstood a really intense run and persevered.
A lot of we suck and how embarrassing when we lost to SH and Bama when our late shots didn't go down. Prepared us for this and Herro with a 3 dagger down and when it really mattered, E8 here we come. Herro haters suck it!

Told my wife that fans would experience exploding heads should we lose that game after Cal called that timeout in an unusual spot with 25+ seconds left and a UH team that can drain 3s from anywhere.
Then UH goes and does something completely stupid by driving the lane in the first few seconds for a 2. Thank goodness, because I happen to like our coach.

2. PJ's block on the Houston PG(DOWN 1)
3. Tyler makes a 3(UP 2)
4. Ashton defends the UH PG on the drive and denies him AND gets the rebound(UP 2)
5. Tyler makes 2 FT's
BALLGAME!!! Cal was great to end the game after we had struggled for 19 minutes to score!!

i liked almost as much his timeout with 25 seconds left. we’re up two their ball and you don’t want to give up an open court rim run. he set up the defense which forced and isolation play and then the miss. it was very smart not to give up an easy two in transition and just assume having possession in a tie after they score is where you want to be. it was a pivotal point in the game and it was academic after that.
What some UK fans can’t seem to grasp is the other team goes on runs too. Houston is 30 game winner. Wofford was a 30 game winner. Those were outstanding teams. But this was Cal’s 7th Elite 8 in 10 years at UK. That is unbelievable.
