Schwerzler Steps Down at Grassfield

Andy Schwerzler has stepped down at Grassfield. That makes four vacancies around the state that we know at this time along with 3A Petersburg, 2A Page County and 1A West Point. Rumors persist about a couple of coaches stepping down in 6A-North here soon.

I have never heard of Grassfield, how is the present talent? Anyone know anything about the area?
Does anyone have any experience coaching in Chesapeake or are friends with anyone coaching
basketball there? How is the administration support, fan support, parent support? How is the basketball talent overall? I may be interested in checking it out.

Got a good nucleus back and the school has a number of good athletes, many of which also participate in football and track. Area is rich in talent as well. They draw from where Deep Creek used to, for years that school won quite a bit in both boys basketball and football. When Grassfield opened up in 2007, the enrollment shrunk considerably for Deep Creek, and the school has done well in a number of sports in a short period of time.

Pretty loyal parent support and fan base for a relatively new school. Beautiful looking school, and haven't heard of any coaches complain there that the administration is hard to deal with, so imagine the support is fair to good.
