Was just wondering where our scholarship numbers were at with the 23 signings yesterday and decided to figure out the numbers.

According to the scholarship distribution chart that was put out on 8/24/18, we are at 84 scholarships currently.

With 16 seniors graduating, that puts us at 17 available.

Confirmed players leaving:
Greg Bell
Jalin Barnett
Jacob Weinmaster
Avery Roberts
Tyjon Lindsey
Tristan Gebbia
Guy Thomas
Justin McGriff
This puts them at 25 available scholarships.

Players that we wouldn't be surprised if they leave:
Vaha Vainuku
Avery Anderson
Caleb Lightbourn
Parnell Jefferson
Quayshon Alexander
If these players leave, that puts us at 30 available scholarships. We signed 23 yesterday and that will be 24 with Mills as NU will accept his signature now or February(I am not counting on Bland right now). Add Darrion Daniels and that puts us at 25, which leaves us with 5 open spots +3 per over signing rules.

Do these numbers look correct? Will they save a few back for walk ons and grad transfers? I was just wondering with the second signing day coming up on what type of numbers we will see in the second signing day.

There is also a list of guys who we never hear much about. Would these guys be transfer candidates?
Christian Gaylord(not sure as I know they have family around here he seems to like it at NU)
Eric Lee?
Tony Butler?
John Raridon?
Jaylin Bradley(I think he stays. Had some off field issues and hopefully straightens things out)
Broc Bando?
Any others?

Agreed, but I don’t see John Raridon leaving. He’s a guard/center, correct? This season coming up could be his first chance at a starting spot and he’s always in the talk but just doesn’t seem to quite crack the 2 deep. This could be that year. We lose 3 starters at center and both guards?? I’d guess he’d at least wait and see how spring/summer goes...maybe even fall camp and see if he gets into the two deep.

All the other guys, it’s very well possible. Butler and Lee both seem to get playing time, just not consistent starters. So we shall see. Vaha Vainuku just got here and he doesn’t exactly have much time left. I’d guess he sucks it up and makes the most of what he has and gives us depth. Not sure if is quality depth but depth regardless.

I think we are at 81 right now (not including Mills, don't think Bland is coming), with more attrition coming.

Oh, and the 81 does include the older Daniels

There are others from that list who are gone, Will Jackson and Tre Bryant, you had 17, listed 8 and counted 7, so it is 25 + 2 or 27 open.

We signed 23, so 4 open at this point officially, depending on how counting back goes and 5 if they decide to move Mazour back to walk-on status.

LJS updated theirs with signees (doesn’t have Weinmaster out yet)
