Interesting. Greg probably knows Jim Guarantano well from his days as a RU GA and him coming probably guarantees Jarrett stays with the program.

Cool, let's see what he can do and what he's learned from UM and his time away from being a HC. No excuses here, Butch recruited very well at Tenn and he's got all the resources you could want.

Good for him, another couple of millions a year 3-4 million for 4-5 years, and getting a few Rutgers fans mad. I think he makes the defense better. I wonder if he finally can get a great offense with real offensive linemen and a real QB. He is a great recruiter that will get Florida players.

Where are all our posters who said Schiano would never get a big P5 job?
Well I've always said all it takes is one to take a shot on you. In the other Schiano/Tenn thread I stated why I didn't think he deserved a shot at an NFL job coming from RU and what he did here.

This is different though. He's been away, been humbled and has worked for UM for 2 years in a sort of anointing. IMO it depends on how much he's changed and how much he's learned, specifically on dealing with offense. He's got Butch's very good recruiting classes and all the resources he could ever want so really no excuses. So we'll see.

I have to laugh when I look at Tennessee’s 2018 schedule and see they open with West Virginia.

That is really funny.

If you go by this year he has a really tough 3 game stretch of Georgia, Auburn, and Alabama. At least there's a bye thrown in.

Forget about next year, it's what he does there over time. Brady Hoke had a stellar year 1 at UM and we see what happened there. You judge on the results over time but I do think he should hit the ground running given Butch's recruiting and Tenn's resources. Somewhat similar to Harbaugh off Hoke's recruiting and Michigan's resources.

That is the nail in Harbaughs coffin. He will never out-recruit Greg for the best NJ players, which Michigan needs.

Maybe Schiano just couldn’t recruit the 4 star QB to Rutgers. We only had 1 which was Savage but we had a terrible offensive line. Tenn get 1-2 4 star QB every years and 2-3 4 star offensive linemen every year.

I hear Schiano is planning to hire Flood as his Offensive coordinator.

I wonder of Meyer is glad to see GS leave after a few epic defensive blowouts?

In any case, I have another team to follow
