This probably best sums up how RU fans feel at this point waiting for the BOG meeting to get announced.

Why are the “well connected” afraid to mention said sources? It’s not like classified info...nothing of real consequence hinges on this...name them? If they did not want to be named they should not be babbling to you in the first place!

Name drop! Do it!

Plan B would be to interview coaches currently on staff at other schools once the season ends.

Keep the current coach. I don’t buy that you have to have some pedigree to coach at a specific level. He’s doing a great job. Especially considering the circumstances. He can go .500 for less than Schiego.

There is a plan and there's always been a plan. A movie was even made about it. "Plan 9 From Outer Space." (The real story about the Rutgers coaching search)

I think that RU got a secret verbal from Greg a while back. That’s why Jones backed out.

Imo current delay is now related to financial commitments for facilities and coaches that Greg may want in writing.

Should be done soon enough. Not worried at this point.

The Women’s Basketball team has recently announced some big recruits. Hobbs needs to hire a coach with a big reputation. If not Schiano, it’s got to be a highly recognizable name (I doubt we’ll see another Ash-like novice coach).

Schiego better produce some recruiting, ticket sales and upsets for all this drama.

Did Schiano personally wrong you? Why are you constantly going after him like this?

It seems like you have an axe to grind.
That is fine though as we need a SHARP axe to KEEP CHOPPIN'

No he didn’t wrong me. Just the longer this takes the more I think about it. I think it’s time to move on.

Had an ex girlfriend run off with a guy. Didn’t work out. She’s hot and wanted to come back. At first I was going to do it. But as it dragged out too long I started thinking about all the baggage. It just wasn’t worth it. Yeah I know, WGAF.

He was on his way to building something special at RU. Let his head get too big.
And now if he’s asking for the moon and stars to come back? He would have that if he just stayed?
I don’t like job hoppers. RU stuck it out with him and he didn’t stick it out. Step back and look at his resume since he left. It’s not impressive.

At first I wanted him back but everyday that goes by is more likely that it isn’t a good fit anymore.

You posts are completely stupid. You are blaming Schiano for dragging this out. It has nothing to do with him. It's Rutgers being Rutgers. You are an obvious hater of Schiano no matter how much you claim you aren't. Just admit you hate him and move on.

Very silly thread. The only reason you all are posting these things is because you believed fake rumors. You got suckered by clickbait. You only have ourselves to blame for that.

Here is an actual quote from Pat Hobbs:

“my intention right now is that we would hopefully be in a position to announce at the end of the season.”

This is quite a silly post. There is no one that would not have taken the job of an NFL coach and increase in salary. If its offered you have to go for it. stop acting butthurt

Schiano fatigue is an understatement. I'm tired of reading all of the theories and "sources" posts. Just get this over with! :Money: :MoneyBags:

This. Who says that a deal is NOT in place and that they're just waiting for season's end to announce it?

Not a hater. Coaching football isn’t splitting atoms. Coaches from all ranks move up all the time and do well. Ash was just a horrible choice.

People making it out that it’s end of anything good at RU if this unemployed coach doesn’t come back. Absolutely ridiculous crap.

The guy you have now seems motivated and can coach. There’s plenty of other options.

Schiano is keeping Nunzio as coach. Years down the road Nunzio should be a very good HC. He will learn from the master the next few years.

The sooner he is announced. The bigger head start he gets. The sooner he can start talking to recruits, high school coaches and watching video of kids he wants to sign. Not to mention finding staff from other programs he may be interested in.

The reason you fire a coach during the season is to get your next coach a head start in all facets of the program he will lead.

Hopefully, if he is the next coach. He is already doing this behind the scenes.

I can't think of a coach off the top of my head that was hired in the regular season...and if it has happened it's very rare. Usually it's just after the season and before the bowl games and sometimes beyond even if a coach is fired in season.

The reason to fire a coach in season usually is so the AD can do all his back channel searching/talks without having a sitting coaching.....it's not the way to do business plus how many other coaches would actually respond back with a sitting coach in place. IMO, it's so the AD can perform his search unencumbered by a sitting coach.

Morris/Taggart were fired in season but I wouldn't expect those schools to name a coach until just after the season. IIRC Paul Rhoads was fired a week before the last game and Campbell was announced a day or so after the regular season...but most likely they were targeting him and had the talks in that week and finished it off quickly.
