CL in mid-season form. balls flying everywhere. Dare has the most accurate arm out there. NOW we find the solid Pro - Set QB LOL!

With these Qbs. left them run run run. Almost 100% interchangeable. We better be 1 solid a$$ Defensive team.

At least, Ash doesn't pull any punches. He said that none of the QBs really set themselves apart and that seems to be the case. The running game and the screen passes seem to be ok. Can we run that all season?

Just an aside- this " game" is a helluva lot better than the Michigan State 14-11 spring yawner

The real position of need is wide receiver. It wouldn't matter if we had Joe Montana back there. Unless the ball is thrown between the numbers, these guys are shaky and that includes Grant. They have trouble in traffic or holding on to anything outside of the numbers. You can't teach hands.

Classic Ru football. Lots of punts, overthrown balls, dropped passes and 50% on field goals. I know it is a spring game where you can't get within 3 yards of the QB but the additional "sharpness" I was expecting was clearly lacking.

AS Drew M, said in his interview, The summer workout program is going to be VERY important for this team to step forward.

Hopefully reality will settle back in with the fans. I would expect a very tough year coming.

It is a spring game but so we wouldn't do it but the thing missing is will we really run the QB in this offense. Cause tonight was very drop back with quick throws and very little "let the qb improvise and run". hoping for a BIG difference come the fall and just doing a blend of old and new tonight given the newness of it all.

Well, let's hope Coach Ash truly and genuinely puts a great emphasis on recruiting. All these kids are talented athletes, but in my amateur opinion they are not the D1A / B10 elite athletes that Ash has become accustom to coaching.

Not sure we are ready for a spread offense either.

The helmet black stripe...guess you have to earn your stripe off the helmet.

Black stripe = bad
No stripe = good

Thats what Big Tuna said anyway.

You are making this assessment based on a spring game having just had a new offense installed. Do people think before they post?

Oh sorry. That was after the first half. I thought they got to practice for a few weeks before this scrimmage.

And they all have played football before right? Like throwing and catching?

See, this is the reason Flood didn't play any kind of game in his Spring Game, he organized a Country Fair, and people loved it. And, the season reflected his approach.
Ash, is changing the culture at RU, and people still don't understand what that means. It doesn't happen overnight, or even in the first year, but it will happen. Change always comes slow, and with agony. These are for the most part not the players he has recruited, skill set is different, they are Floods guys, enough said. It will take time.
But, that was a bigger, more reactive team than we have seen on the banks, probably ever! Patience people....
