I see he is listed 2nd on the spring depth chart. I understand that this is somewhat meaningless but it did make me curious. At one point, some said he was really just focused on baseball as a pitcher I thought. Was SEC baseball too big of a step for him. Is he more focused on bing a QB now? Does anyone on here know how he is doing/ what's his future?

Seems like if he was gonna pitch, we would have used him at some point already this season.

He didn't enroll early because he wanted to finish his high school baseball season. Not playing college baseball. Apparently he is playing pretty good

Hope he pushes Rogers or even takes some snaps this year.

I have mixed emotions on Sawyer. I want that next level QB that stretches the field but I also believe Rogers is going to be really good.

I am thinking it's good to have more than one good QB at this point. It could be one of those situations where Rogers better stay on the field healthy or if Sawyer ever gets in there you won't be able to take him back out.

Any update on how he's progressing as a QB?
He's not going to beat out Rogers this year. Primary backup this year. We'll see how far back he his. But it's fairly significant. He just needs to be ready if he has to play.

I'm a big fan of Will and think he has been impressive and I'm sure he will have a great year but I figure next spring will be very interesting. Sawyer has the potential to be a game changer and I can't imagine him being a back up in 2023. Bigger, stronger and more athletic. I hope he gets some quality playing time this year. Edited to add I wish Will would have a good enough year to get drafted but that seems like a real stretch

I like Will too and agree with your sentiment

If we win enough games it won't be a stretch for Will to get drafted.
