You must also not realize that if we had the same winning percentage before 1997 that we had after 1997, we would not be on the list.

You must also not realize that Tom was responsible for hiring 2 very successful football coaches that were very responsible for getting us on the list.

You must also not realize that Tom came back to serve his school as AD and was largely responsible for getting our facilities in all sports to be as good as any school in the country.

Oh yes, you must also not realize that Tom was paid only $250,000 a year to be AD. Harvey paid our new AD over a million dollars a year PLUS 150,000 in moving expenses. Holy Cow!

And 50 is a good round number but the fact is, we accumulated such a huge lead in wins that it spreads all the way back to 1955. 61 years. Most wins in the last 61 years. Soon to be 62.

It's also appropriate to include "Thank you Bob"! I'm not familiar with what happened between 55 and 62, but I know the years immediately prior to 62 were not good, thus Bob Devaney was hired, kicking off the 50 year run and he had enough foresight to recognize what he had in Osborne and recommend that Osborne become the next head coach.
