Didn’t we all just watch a spread team dismantle a traditional “power football” team with vastly better players (on paper) in the national semifinal?

Why is this exciting?
Georgia does a lot of the things Satterfield is describing

Then why isn't he recruiting any fullbacks or tight ends? We don't have any FBs on the roster and we don't have any proven TEs coming back.
We’ve got plenty of kids on the roster who would love a chance to get on the field by playing fullback. They’ll have some options.

While i loved Rathman and Makovicka we need to find an Andra Franklin. That guy was a huge cog in our offense at the time.

Why is this exciting?
Because 95% of our fanbase thinks it’s 1992

Like I said, if we can establish a vast talent gap like the SEC teams that win this way, I’m all for it
Michigan didn't lose bc they ran some power football, they lost bc they threw 2 pick sixes, and only came up with three points on three trips inside the 5 yard line. One could argue not sticking to their power football identity cost them that game. Also them not having their best RB was a factor.

What I am hearing is that Ethan Piper is playing fullback in a jumbo type package. 4 th and short, 3rd and goal situations
I'm curious how Piper could have been tagged to play fullback since the semester hasn't started yet and the coaches are saying they haven't had a chance to get with the players to get the "feel" of their rooms.

No doubt there’s been discussion amongst the staff already and in fact Rhule has said he’s watched all of our games. Satterfield also mentioned that he has watched practice and game video. I have no doubt that they already have an idea on who could be a situational fullback. A TE who could do it came up on the radio yesterday. My money eventually will be on a walk on.

Hallelujah! Next thing you know, high school basketball will abandon the 5-out, drive- or -chuck 3s...and return to something we used to call a "screen" and a "jump shot".😃
They run screens in school. It’s impossible to play competitive basketball if you’re stuck on what the game used to be 30 years ago. Fact is that modern players are longer, faster, and much more experienced before they try out their Freshman year. There’s no space to simply run a set and expect a shooter to be open and able to shoot a deliberate set jumper. The game has evolved well beyond that

Because the staff is trying to win the narrative right now.. which probably isn't as important. You start talking too much, and things come back to bite you. Just get to work.. the fans will come and figure it out with their eyeballs soon enough.

Isn’t the most traditional opponent we play iowa?

And didn’t we just run roughshod over them with speed & deep balls?

Why must we mimic something that has proven - time and again - to not get teams where we want to go?

Also, TCU won what, 5 games last year?
Welcome to Nebraska…. Where there is no right answer to any question

I understand the concern for going back to a more conservative offense, but I don’t think it’s going to be that. I think there will be packages, but I don’t think we’ll be Iowa out there. I have a higher level of trust for HCMR in this, and am excited to see it play out.

Mee too. I went back and looked at the first three series of the 2016 Temple/Navy AAC Championship Game. Granted Sat wasn't OC, but I liked what I saw. Power under center with a FB (FB dives and ISOs), jet sweeps, a screen or two, mid range over the middle passes, two long passes that stretched the field. Some under center, some shotgun, they didn't huddle. Very diverse.

How do you even find that game? YouTube?

Are you bringing logic and reason to this argument?

Wasn't the war of 1812 a draw and the war that ensured we never conquered Canada.
Yes, that was part of it. Total b******* that the Brits burned down the White House. We were feeling a little bit insecure in the Northeast with regard to forts along the Eastern seaboard.

The British were harassing American ships in the Atlantic post revolutionary war. They also wanted to establish another foothold in America through Florida and then into the port of New Orleans which would allow them to control all trade down the Mississippi and to the West. The great Andrew Jackson put his foot up their *** and tossed them off the continent for good, although they were kind of dicks during the civil war.

Have to agree to disagree, I guess.

I love a hard nosed full back that just puts his face mask in the chest of every runs fit linebacker play after play after play. They don’t like that and it paid dividends in the second half.

Why not commit on the spot? Is he waiting for an offer from Georgia or something?
Well he is just going to be a junior...... before the offer he was most likely going to play baseball in college..... he's a Nebraska top 10 2025 baseball prospect, most likely football now too. So I'm sure it changes quite a bit for him and his family.
