CBS gets first choice of games through the Sweet 16. You can guarantee its a prime time game for ratings.

Highly doubt they would make us play late game on thursday and then early on saturday. Just bet on it being later saturday night. Gives you plenty of time to pre game.

We are going to be in whatever spot CBS thinks will draw the most viewers.

Kentucky is the story this season. That's not UK fan arrogance speaking, it's a fact. It would be the same if any of the other bluebloods were undefeated. You will have casual viewers tuning in to catch a few minutes of UK that will stick around for as long as it's a close game. Maybe even if it's not a close game... just for a chance to watch history.

I heard on Tom Leach's show that CBS had the 12:00, 2:30 and 4:30 time slots and the thought is we would play at one of those times. He speculated it would be the noon slot since it is the only game on at that time.

Im still sticking with the fact that CBS is using Notre Dame tomorrow to kick off the tournament, and will most likely do the same on Saturday for early game. Its the most national "brand" in the tournament.

To me putting Kentucky at noon on Saturday, even with our fanbase, would not be some type of ratings boom for the network.

if it is not noon it will be 2:40 because by 5 people are out eating and such on Saturdays and that makes for less viewers

If CBS decides to put Kentucky at noon (arrgh), I hope the bars around the Yum, particularly Doc Crowes, open at 9 a:m.

One day people will realize that no one has any idea what time the ncaa games are until after the previous games are played.

Don't we have a game to win Thursday?
You know, if you're going to try to make some silly "you shouldn't be looking ahead" point, you should probably choose something different than a game where the underdog has lost 120 times in a row over a 30 year period (and now has to play the first undefeated major conference team of that entire period of time).

I think it's a safe assumption that UK will be playing Saturday unless the earth is hit by a giant meteor. I'd say the odds of the earth being hit by giant meteor by Saturday are about the same as the odds that UK isn't playing on Saturday. So really, I'm more worried about the meteor than UK losing on Thursday.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I don't see us playing at noon or early in the day. Our game won't be over till midnight east. And the 8/9 game is late right before ours. I don't see CBS having the number one seed playing less than 36 hours after the final, horn of their first game.

I think we play after 4 imo

Notre Dame is a national brand in basketball the same way Duke is a national brand in football.

As if they care about that, at all. It will be scheduled for ratings without a single care for the student athletes. Because they only matter when someone wants to ***** about one and dones.

Well if you don't think Notre Dame is as close to a national brand name as there is to the casual fan of college athletics to go along with a strong alumni / fan base from coast to coast, then you must be new following sports. So welcome.

I understand what you are trying to say, I'm not stupid. Notre Dame does not move the needle in college basketball, not even the slightest. Ohio State has a similarly sized fanbase in football and has a similar basketball program with a bigger basketball fanbase and they don't move the needle in basketball either. If you're talking alumni, take a look at OSU's enrollment v. Notre Dame's.

The only teams that can draw casual fans in (IMO) right now are Kentucky and Duke. The rest will be tuning in just to see a generic David (with a high seed next to their name) take down a generic Goliath (with a low seed next to their name) OR to cheer for whoever they picked in their bracket.
