If hiring an NFL HoF DT to coach is a clown move, I wish NU would start a circus of their own.

Colorful guy. I always enjoyed his style of play and his sideline demeanor. He made up for his lack of size by playing with great intensity and athleticism.
Just reading his Wiki page is highly entertaining.
-Was once bitten by a shark.
-Was known for psyching out his opponents by skipping through their pregame stretch session.
-Was a kicker and punter in high school. Reportedly, no slouch.
-Gave Johnny Damon a concussion in a high school game.

However entertaining, his off the field antics were shameful

He is a DL in Deion’s mold: flashy look at me talker. Can he play? Sure. Can he coach? No idea. Can he recruit? No idea. Can he talk? Unquestionably.

Unless he can bring in development and day to day teaching along with some talent upgrade in players, it won’t end well.

He is flashy in his talking but as a player was elite. Has he coached before, anywhere? Can he recruit?

Listening to him on a few sports talk shows I know he is knowledgeable but not sure he will be passionate enough to get the changes needed for the program to get better.

More style over substance????? Not sure. Maybe the DJ in the locker room can find the right mix to share for insight.

This will go one of two ways...

Scenario A: Sapp has been flopping around without a purpose in life since being one of the best to ever play the game and Deion just gave him his calling and it's a great hire.

Scenario B: Sapp gets tired of that **** after a few months and can't breathe at that altitude and looks at his bank account and realizes he don't need this **** and there's not enough space in the room for those two egos and he doesn't see game 1 of 2024.

We'll see. Either way, another big recruiting boost for Deion for sure.

It's possible it's his bank account is driving this move. He filed for bankruptcy awhile ago

Oh no ****? I didn't know that. Well, then yeah, probably at least a little financially driven.

Good Lord how do these guys blow through that kind of cash? That dude had to have made tens of millions just in salary alone throughout his career.

I mean, I understand how my wife could spend that. But I'd like to think I'd only spend like 90% of it.

This has all the makings of the Herm Edwards failed experiment at ASU. A combination of NFL refugees who feel 8-10 years playing in the league translates well to a first time college coaching gig. Good luck with that.

Likes to talk so might be a good recruiter but I think Sapp will find out what most Husker fans already know. 17 year old kids don't care what happened in 1994. Sounds like he's already on the staff so not sure how big of impact he has made being that they get gashed all the time.

Arrested for domestic assault. Arrested for solicitation of prostitution and assault. Unpaid child support. Unpaid taxes. Bankruptcy. I don't see any coaching in his bio. Guy is 51. Sounds very Deion like.

Grinding as a player day to day and as a coach are two different things for sure.

Not sure it will be a boost for more than getting guys to want to visit. Going to have to show the plan to get the players better and

Well he did keep people on a bankroll to cover for all his crimes & evil doings. Couldn't have been cheap

Warren was a great player, but he seems to get himself involved in a lot of drama. Domestic battery, solicitation of a prostitute, assault and bankruptcy.
Sounds like maybe Boulder will be the next location for the Hangover movie franchise, except the head coach doesn’t drink.

He may be an NFL Hall Of Famer but when he played against us, we made him look like only a 2* recruit and am being generous.

Sapp has been going to multiple NFL training camps and practices helping with defensive lines. He was in Washington last year and I believe Tampa and the Jets as well.

That may or may not be a positive. I don't watch those crap teams so I wouldn't know how their D-lines are.

Rhule hired Pot roast. Obviously not the player Sapp was but pretty decent. The difference Pot roast coached a little in College at a FSC school and was a DL assistant in the NFL. I don’t believe
Sapp has any coaching experience:

I'm going to disagree with this. He reached through the line to pull down LP with one paw. Our line was great, and he didn't get his name called near as much that game. Also ran out of gas in the 4th quarter. He was very disruptive quarters 1-3.
It was great on great, and our great won out that night.

He only had 2 or 3 tackles on the night total as our OL was beating the hell outta him. I was at that Orange Bowl and watched it happen. The OL beat the livin hell out of him and his linemate Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson.

He had 6 tackles, 5 solo. Pretty good for a DT whose primary job was to eat blockers for Ray Lewis...

How would y’all feel if we hired Suh as DL coach?
Concerned?

Every kid in America who plays football knows who Suh is. He was playing last year. I would be shocked if 1% of high school football players know who Warren Sapp is. Suh, as far as I know, doesn't have a history of violence against women, hookers, tax evasion, or bankruptcy.

The main difference is Suh is probably filthy rich and could take an intern position to work his way up if he wants to coach. Money problem Sapp probably doesn't have that luxury.
