basically, if you dont win the superbowl, you're better off getting a higher pick in the draft. do you think jets fans are happy that they won more games and were better than the giants this year? They were..but now we get a franchise qb

I didnt say whoever the giants take is gonna be better than wentz. i said that the 2nd overall pick in a stacked draft is gonna help our franchise a lot more than whatever low, mostly irrelevant pick the eagles get this year after their 1 and done in the playoffs.

It may. Or you may take Rosen and he may never pan out at all. You're also assuming the Eagles lose next week. I think their defense is good enough to win at home in a cold rain against a very inconsistent Atlanta team. In fact, if go as far as to say that if they commit to the run, the Eagles win rather easily.

It's beyond strange, it's disturbing. The Beagles last got to the Superbowl when my oldest was three. We had her in a local day care here and the one day during Superbowl week they had the kids coloring pictures of Terrell Owens and Donovan McNabb. No way I was standing by to let her get indoctrinated into that lifetime of heartache that is Philly sports fandom.
One year my brother in law came up for Christmas from Tampa. We went to the mall to get gifts and he couldn't believe how many people were walking around in Eagles gear. It's just everywhere.

So he finds it odd that Eagles fans wear Eagles gear? I guess being from Tampa where they don't have fans of their local teams, that makes sense.
People who hate on fans of another team are so strange to me. Who cares what team they like? It's a middle school mentality.

This is the worst argument in sports. First of all, we're fans, so we all have zero. Unless you suited up, you have none. Secondly, I've always said the only team that gets to talk trash is the current champ. Everyone else lost. I don't care what happened in 2015, 2005, or 1905. None of that matters now. Lastly, I enjoy watching my team play and I hope they win. IF they do, I'm happy. IF they don't, I get over it. Does having a super bowl memory from x-years ago really make that any Different? So weird.

Tampa has plenty of fans. So do the Giants, Jets, Cowboys, Steelers and most every franchise. The difference is you go to a random shopping center at any of those places, 40% of the people there aren't wearing NFL gear. They don't have fans with shrines to the starting qb with his framed jersey behind a curtain that only gets drawn back on game day. (I'm not making that up either. Former co-worker).
I don't care who anyone roots for but from an objective standpoint, it's creepy.

Are you being serious? There are no Giants, Jets, Steelers, Cowboys, or even Bucs fans that go over the top? That's a ridiculous statement.

Oh, and there's no chance 40% of people are wearing Eagles gear anywhere outside of the stadium on game day. But if they were, what a terrible thing to have a passionate fan base. Rutgers should be so lucky.

Funny i was thinking of the same thing. And i was also wondering what it would have been like if someone had the bright idea to make him the QB and run some sort of spread. I think he would have been very good at that.

I really feel for you Philly fans. I do. See, you guys have no idea what it's like to get to watch your team win it all. I've been very lucky to see my teams win 4 Superbowls, 7 World Series, and 3 Stanley Cups. And yeah, those memories last a lifetime. The Giants in 86, the Gatorade bath they gave Parcells every win that everyone does now, Phil Simms looking at the camera and saying "I'm going to Disney World," David Tyree's helmet catch, Pats going 18-1, Scott Stevens knocking out Kozlov, Lindros, Francis, Kariya, Brodeur's shutouts, Arnott's cup winning goal at 2 in the morning, Reggie Jackson's 3 home run game, Jeter as Mr. November, Clemens flinging the broken bat at Piazza because he was so fired up, Rivera mowing down batters and breaking bats, all these things meant so much more because they hoisted cups and trophies at the end.

Not really Fruitcake. Been a fan since I was 8. When I was growing up most kids were Cowboys or Steelers fans in North Jersey.

Have you found that other than Giants the biggest bar crowds on Sundays are Steelers, Cowboys, and Packers? That's what I've been told by someone who works a sports bar

It was the Cowboys and Steelers in North Jersey for all those football Sundays I worked. Of course, a decent amount of Eagles fans where you and I live now. Heck, 4 of the 12 dad's from my son's travel baseball team are big Cowboys fans.

I worked the wedding reception of one of the Eagle Cheerleaders. Many others were there. It was quite the sight.[winking]

Yeah,

I miss that type of stuff. Was an awesome business both financially and socially. Being behind the bar allowed me to date some extremely attractive women.

We've been at the bottom of the NFC lately and it helped us to get Wentz. As franchises other than the Browns have shown throughout sports, bottoming out helps you get very good players. Nobody can deny it.

We basically already had a top seed wrapped up when Wentz went down (he would have been the MVP and probably still should), so this season came down to the fact Philly fans could actually enjoy football for the first 15-16 weeks of the season. And who knows, maybe Foles pretends to be the Foles of a few years ago and we make the Superbowl thanks to our D and running game. Unlikely? Most definitely yes. Could it happen? I still hold to the fact that Trent Dilfer won a Superbowl.

I hate the Cowboys and most of their bandwagon fans, and while not lately (>20 years) perhaps you missed the 3 rings in the 90s.

Let’s not get carried away. Mo is plenty fast but Brown changed direction twice and ran on an angle toward Sanu. Brown was a missile. Sanu is a long strider as a few mentioned. His biggest asset is his strength and hand strength. His speed is a bonus.

Don’t get me wrong, I was excited about how fast he was on that play when it happened. Great player.

I never noticed before that Sanu wore 6 and Brown 2.. matching Brown's tattoo for himself and his best friend Jasper Howard who was murdered at UCONN. Weird how that worked out in that circumstance in that memorial game for Howard.. with all those UCONN fans wearing #6.
