I’m always scared MSU is going to have a group of players refuse to play unless the flag is changed. It would be a lightening rod for media.

I want to get rid of this flag, but just pointing out, you’ve always been a scared little, liberal *****😂😂...

Read the article I just posted a reply above yours, then get back to me. Why is nobody going after Arkansas' flag? And the MS schools ain't going NOWHERE.

The Arkansas flag wasn't used by a bunch of racist ******** and KKK members as a symbol of segregation.

You fit in well with what the dems want. Pussies who are told what to think and do.

My point is, some dipshit, who the majority of you have claimed to despise, is telling you what to do with your state. If you think it should be changed then do it. Protest outside the 17ing capitol until it's done. Not because some dick who runs a sports conference is threatening you.

I am not a democrat. I have never been classified by anyone I know as either a liberal or a conservative. I’m honestly not even political, and at the end of the day I really don’t give a damn about what Sankey thinks.

That being said, he does have every right to voice his opinion on this issue. He is essentially the head of a business that brings in hundreds of millions of dollars of revenue in states all across the southeast, including Mississippi. How does this not impact his work and the health of his organization? Our state flag and what goes on in Mississippi is 100% in “his lane.”

Inappropriate time for Sankey to say something IMO. It’s up to the state and I agree we don’t need or want someone telling us what to do with a threat. Bush league.

With that said I’m kinda like screw it now and just go with the Stennis flag and be done with it. One other thing, the state glad doesn’t fly on any campus does it?

It's not inappropriate for him, it's inappropriate for our chickenshit leaders to keep holding up a change.

Remove it

It is time for it to go and has been for some time now.

I also think we've seen the last Ole Miss Rebel football game. And man, what an appropriate ending that was.

This is nothing but pandering. Are there any SEC championship events in Mississippi now? Certainly not the big three sports. Besides, the SEC is only worried about Alabama winning every year.

17 Sankey. If the citizens of MS want it changed then change it. Sankey doesn't need to stick his nose where it doesn't belong

It needs to go. I voted against it the last time, and will again. That being said it shouldn't be put to a vote. The current one was an act of the legislature, step up and do the right thing you stupid morons.

The NCAA is about to say the same thing. No regionals at the Dude. If that's what you want then you aren't a MSU fan.

Can anyone get Tate's attention on this?? I'm just like you, BFB, I'm way right of center but this issue is one that shouldn't have much resistance. It's wayyyyyy past time to change the flag.

"Mississippi, would you please let black people vote?" Think that would have worked?

Based on history, it will be the federal govt that takes the flag down.

Would look a lot better if we do it pronto.

If he really cared about changing our flag, he'd keep his mouth shut. There's nothing to make a backwards Mississippian dig in his heels like saying, "We ain't lettin them damn outsiders tell US what to do!"

The time for finesse and kindly trying to change people's minds is over, if we keep that strategy it could be another 25 years before it's changed. Time to just do it, if it bothers some people so much they are free to fly whatever flag they choose at their house.

This is just one of those things that is past due. That is coming from a descendant of confederate veterans that also did NOT own anybody. Move the damn statues to a museum or battlefield, take the stupid flag down. If it in anyway hurts MSU, like the NCAA saying no more regionals, then get rid of it. Honestly, it should have been long gone by now. I just do not get the people on the other side of this, no offense to anybody but my family let it go and it is past time.

Let's clean ours first and then remind Mr Sankey

Whataboutism at its finest. How about we clean up our kitchen first, then check on our neighbors.

That the state of Georgia, who hosts the big money championship games, is currently flying the stars and bars above their state capitol. We have housekeeping to do and I thank him if it lights a fire under some cowardly legislatures, but 17 him if he wants to bite his tongue on another state that flies a flag of an actual enemy of the United States.

Here's a little conspiracy theory since he didn't mention ANYTHING about the name Ole Miss, it's mascot or Georgia (which I didn't know still flew the stars and bars) when the SEC actually host championship events in that state: Keenum and Cohen asked him to do it as an outside push.

That we had responses so quickly from Keenum, Cohen and then Leach shows me we knew it was coming were behind it.

I agree but don't care for distractions or whataboutism in this discussion.

Ours is universally seen as racist. Theirs is racist on the down-low, for now.

It needs to be taken down and it probably was regardless of Sankeys message. But now it going to be taken as “the SEC forced Mississippi to change its state flag” when it reality it was probably going down this year anyway

Yep. And Shame on our state leaders for waiting so long that it came down to that. And Phil will still say we needed to keep it.

Somewhere along the way sports became somewhat of a “god” to a lot of people. You let a athlete/coach/admin from your favorite college or NFL team get vocal about anything and fans start eating that stuff up like a golden corral buffet. Who gives 2 craps what any athlete/coach/admin think politically!?!?! Stay in your lane. If fans would realize that their $ is what foots the bill and all you got to do is not buy their product and they will shut up or at least you don’t feel compromised. I really hate athletics has come to this bc it use to be so fun! Kids were so excited to play the game. Fans would take off work to go root them on. Im almost to the point of being done with the crap. Ive already decided not to go to any games bc of the point proving but Im almost to the point of going to radio only so espn and sec dont get my ratings. Im so sick of this crap

1) accomplishes intended goal of getting rid of flag
2) forces OM to echo sentiment but also look stupid from saying it behind the Ole Miss and Rebels monikers.

I like it.

Still...17 Georgia.

Actually it took worse to make us stop treating African-Americans as slaves....in the 1960s. Your stance is asinine.

Universally, the Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia is viewed as an outdated symbol of white supremacy and/or black oppression. When the "Jim Crow" legislature of 1894 introduced our flag, it was a middle finger to the rest of the country and brutal message to black folks in Mississippi, we still own you. And they did, until the 60s.

Georgia will deal with their flag eventually I presume, but what's that got to do with us doing what we should have a long time ago?

Research the "new" Georgia flag and get back to me. With your 18th post

Take it down. The flag is ****. “But, but... muh heritage!” The people who want to keep the flag are just as silly as the idiots who want to cancel Paw Patrol. Common sense will eventually prevail in this country.

Once again, when ppl feel threatened or forced to change, particularly from outsiders, they will throw up the middle finger and say FU. If these ppl.would just mind their own business it would probably be taken care of. This makes it worse.

It’s none of Sankey’s 17ing business personally. He’s not a resident Of Mississippi so I personally don’t give a single 17 what he has to say. Secondly, he needs to worry about fixing the 17ing officiating in the league before he starts mouthing off over the flag. If the residents of Mississippi want it changed then fine but I’m tired of these ***** cucks that don’t reside here saying what is and what isn’t acceptable. I don’t think it’s acceptable to loot and burn down your 17ing major cities but you allow that to happen. I don’t think it’s acceptable for there to be so many people homeless and shitting on the sidewalks in California but it’s happening.
