The guy played the last month of the season with a sports hernia. It’s insane to me he played at all, let alone what he did. What a dude.
Yeah basketball is rough with a sports hernia. Everything can go fine for a while and it doesn’t bother you at all, then make the wrong move and it’s like someone stabbed you right in the groin. The guy played the last month of the season with a sports hernia. I remember the football program having a rash of these back in the day. I think the official message was it was supposed to be one of Boyd’s machines causing it? Glad it’s been diagnosed and hopefully he’ll get it repaired soon. Seems like a lot of athletes drag it out and try to avoid surgery, but to no avail.
Not really. It’s likely a simple repair and he would be ready to go by Summer League. If a team really wants him, this will just be a small speed bump. I obviously hope he’s back at NU next year, but this won’t limit his options.I’m not a medical doctor and don’t portray one on TV either, but wouldn’t this basically quash any possibility re: the NBA with him being draft worthy?
Pete Maravich passed away from in large heart that was undetected by the doctors and people rarely lived passed 20 years of age.The guy played the last month of the season with a sports hernia. It’s insane to me he played at all, let alone what he did. What a dude.
His shot release is the quickest release I have ever seen and at times I can’t believe how many shots he makes. The quickest release in CBB while hurt. Good lawd.
My two sons and I agreed mid-season the reason his shot is so quick is from little brother syndrome. He grew up with Payton blocking every shot he took so he learned to get it off quick. My youngest son never reached for a ball from the age of 2-12 where his older brother didn't try to knock him on his butt, so he wholeheartedly agrees with this theory. His shot release is the quickest release I have ever seen and at times I can’t believe how many shots he makes.
Yep. My elementary-aged boys played 1 on 2 against college-aged brother a few weeks ago. Crazy how much quicker they were getting shots off 5 minutes into a scrimmage, after getting stuffed repeatedly. My two sons and I agreed mid-season the reason his shot is so quick is from little brother syndrome. Dude...you have a 20 year old and kids in elementary school?Yep. My elementary-aged boys played 1 on 2 against college-aged brother a few weeks ago. Crazy how much quicker they were getting shots off 5 minutes into a scrimmage, after getting stuffed repeatedly.
Sounds like it.So...Sandfort is definitely coming back? LFG
I have friends who have three sons. The two oldest are 2 years apart. The youngest son was born on the oldest son's 16th birthday. The dad and the two older brothers used to coach the youngest in sports like little league. All three boys are now adults and successful in every way possible. (At the youngest son's rehearsal dinner for his wedding two summers ago, the two older brothers got up and roasted the hell out of their little brother. They took him down. Years of good-natured grievances and feelings of parental favoritism came out. It was quite amusing.).Dude...you have a 20 year old and kids in elementary school?
That sounds ******* brutal.
It really is true what they say...Women forget just how painful childbirth is and I guess guys will pretend that they forget how annoying ages 0-18 are! Hahaha
I kid, I kid.
That was I think tendonitis of the attachments to the pubis. Sports hernias are really pretty common and can maybe be managed until a convenient time to have them repaired. Not a very big deal.I remember the football program having a rash of these back in the day. I think the official message was it was supposed to be one of Boyd’s machines causing it? Wink wink
