Sanctuary City insanity

Speak to your congresspersons. You are right, it is insanity, but liberals seem to approve of lawlessness. Check out the manor crime cities, those that support criminal aliens and which are (and have been) under Democrat control currently and for many years or even decades.
One area where I have no disagreement with conservatives. There should be no such thing as a sanctuary city (or county, as in Montgomery County, Maryland for example), and those who declare themselves to be such should have Federal funds cut off. Time for the supremacy clause of Article VI of the Constitution to be enforced in this area as it is in others.
The original intent was to improve policing of neighborhoods where illegal immigrants live. If someone in that neighborhood is a victim of a crime or a witness to a crime, the sanctuary laws are intended to have them talk to the police. That part of the policy makes sense to me. I think most have expanded from that basic premise though.
Some of the self-designated sanctuaries announced when they adopted the designation that they were not assist in the enforcement of immigration laws. And I reject the media's characterization of illegals as "illegal immigrants" or "undocumented immigrants" - you're either a legal immigrant or a temporary visitor with the requisite documents (Green Card or visa) to prove it, or you aren't, and if you aren't, you're an alien in the country illegally. (Alien is the official term for a non-citizen)
